Nice to have you give us an update . I wish your father inlaw well. How is that new baby doing? Beautiful sight on your little tour. A good ride always clears my head from worries.

Hi Hakim,
I`ve enjoyed following this thread, following the ups and downs you have experienced keeping the bike on the road. And lots of photos too !. Sorry to hear about your father in law, but good that he has had the surgery, hope he makes a full recovery soon. Had to smile at what you said about him refusing to go to hospital and threatening to pick him up and take him. Had a similar situation with my dad today, he is 86 years old, stubborn as a mule !. Has to go to hospital next week for a heart check up but does`nt want to."Betsy" 1978 CX500 ratbike

Finally the new replacement of Dyna S arrived... yea..!!!
It look more compact compare to previous one, anyway... yea...!
While i was shopping around on ebay, i saw this Lockhart oil cooler set (NOS) the bidding started from $29.99. It been a year i tried to search this oil cooler for my GS. Previously I've contacted Terry last year regard about his oil cooler adapter and told me that it will cost me $130 + Shipping.
I must get this thing before someone or somebody grab it as it complete 1 set.. I set my highest bidding to $100 but somebody outbid me by $2.50 . I set my highest bid to $150 and if I outbid again that"s it, maybe this item don't belong to me. Next morning I checked my email... I WON the bid $108 . My sincere apologies to those ~ if happen to be one of forum member here who I outbid.
its mine.... my precioussss.... !!!!

Finally my oil cooler arrived as per order. I send my bike to my mech shop ~ Ah Guan to install it but found out the oil cooler bracket holder too high and need to do modification by using stainless steel plate.
Even thou i send my bike to the bike shop for the installation, I DIY open the tank & carb and installed everything back by my self (Purposely I DIY so I can get discount . When I wanted to put back the oil pressure switch, I over tighten it and made it broken. Really my bad day, I don't know what to do already.
Luckily my mech got an idea by putting a temporary bolt to plug the oil pressure hole before i can install new oil pressure switch.
I also replace 3 new clutch spring as per advise by this forum and to my surprise... there's lots of different. My Mech said to change it all 6 spring but I insisted to change 3 only.
For the Dyna S, I will keep it first as my contact point still in good working order. save the best for the last....

Hi all,
5/26/13 I made another journey to my friend wedding. Before that, I plan to surprise my friend with convoy of bikers to his wedding but unfortunately they (the bikers) unable to go last minutes. So i had to go on solo ride thou my wife request me to go by car as it quite far about 279km and will took about 3 hours ++ to reach there. I must return a favor to my friend as he previously coming long way from his hometown to attended my wedding 2 years ago ~ alone.
After checking everything, I start my journey at 9am and plan to stop only for refueling. While i was riding, at the highway intersection i accidentally clash up with a convoy whereby they have 2 police traffics escorting them. I slow down and follow the convoy from back but out of nowhere another police traffic come from behind ride beside me and with hand sign ask me if I'm with this convoy. I said no and I keep my distance at back. He slow his bike tail me at back. Again he ride beside me and wave at me to follow him and i know already he wanted me to ride along with convoy at front. I think the police escort misunderstood my hand sign... huhuhuh. Don't want any trouble for me and him, i ride beside him and tell him that I'm going to refuel so i stop at R&R wave at the police traffic to go ahead.
After refueling i continue back and as i cruising steadily at 130km/h i look at my right side mirror shaking badly. OK... this thing going to came off, another pit stop will going to fix it with super glue so i continue riding and when i look again its gone. .
Crap.., picture above my right side mirror. Now i have to do extra job whenever i wanted to overtake a car i have to turn my head to right at 130km/h and stress my neck and its painful.., This is not my pit stop but i had to stop because of my neck pain...
Finally reach my destination at 12.30pm... everybody looking at me as I look like lost but not... hehehe..
But the Bride and Bridegroom not...(spoil my element of surprise) the family members told me that they'll arrive about 1 hour time. I had my lunch first and after that wait for the wedding couple...
nothing to do... snap some photo...,
and there he is...
he's surprise to see me..,
Congratulation to my friend welcome to new life as a family man...
I headed back home with no right side mirror and stressing my neck with 130km/h speed, my ass feels numb as previously I cut the 33 yrs old sponge without changing new one, swinging left and right avoiding vehicle changing lane without giving signal light (Idiot on road... ). With my neck pain, ass feel numb, idiot on road, hot some more and I got headache. I made another pit stop to take a break stretching my body. After take 10min break i get on my bike and move on and reach home on time, in one piece with no untoward incident happen to me or my GS550C. This is my first long distance solo ride and i enjoyed it so much and this suzuki GS550 is really reliable machine thou her age getting older...

Hi Hakim, looks like you have been keeping busy. I have the same sort of luck with my bikes, simple jobs always seem to go wrong. Great pictures by the way, as always enjoyed looking at those. Congratulations on your first long solo ride, can be tiring but you did the right thing taking a few rest stops. And best wishes to your friend and his new bride for their future life together. The bike show looks like it had a good turn out too, some great looking bikes there. I always enjoy browsing the stalls as you never know what you might find, a couple of years back I picked up a set of brand new valves and springs for my GS750, still in the Suzuki packaging for £20.00 or about $30.00 dollars."Betsy" 1978 CX500 ratbike
