Guys... cheers...
Previously Ah Guan gave me plug cable to long for my Dyna ignition coil so it look untidy plus it yellow color. Then i remember about my car silicon plug cable 8.5mm which i put in my rear bonnet spare for my car. Even thou one of the plug cable abit to long, i can cut it short & reconnect it back.
Nice, neat and tidy...

nice thread Hakim. Great to see more GS owners in Malaysia. I am riding a 81' GS550 cafe racer mod too, pic while stuck under a bridge due to Malaysia's torrential rain.
Looking forward to more stories from your ride and Im hoping to start a thread to when I find the time to do my dream ride from Kuala Lumpur to Chiang Mai Thailand.

Hi all, it been nearly 3 months not posting here and forget to informed that my wife already delivered baby boy on 07/23/12. Happy for me & my wife but sad for my GS as it broke down again . As i wanted to go to work i found out that my engine oil come out from the front spocket but i already changed the transmission oil seal 4 months ago. I went to Ah Guan shop to check it out and to my suprise...
transmission bearing faulty maybe its time~32 yrs already. But the pain part is to bring down the engine and open the crankcase to replace it.
engine already open up check every thing and luckly only the bearing faulty.
ok.., complete change the bearing and ready to install.
Final check before install the engine found out my chassis frame got hole due to rust so need to welding it back to cover the hole. Now my GS on the road again... hahahaha...Last edited by Guest; 08-19-2012, 04:42 AM.

How long until you can get the engine back in it?
Eric
1st day ~ 6hrs
- bring down the engine
- open all crankcase cover
2nd day ~ 6hrs
- Open up the crankcase
- change faulty bearing
- change oil seal (transmission & Crankshaft RH)
3rd day ~ 12hrs
- Make new gasket for oil pan, left & right cover as i blew it so be carefull or waste time.
- assamble crankcase & cover
- clutch but i lost 1 nut causing me going nut plus being curse by Ah Guan as he had to modified new nut & wasted about 1 hour
- welding chassis frame
- Put engine back
Note : You will suffer hand, leg & back pain everyday until you complete the process

Your friend the mechanic seems to really know what he is doing.
I'm certain that his nut design was superior to the one that it replaced.
