Sorry to hear about accident. I just pulled a "stupid" with my bike, didn't dump it or anything luckily since I too just got done with a rebuild. But I did end up fracturing my heel. Hope you feel better soon. Looks like we are both waiting for the holiday weekend to be over so we can get casts. Best of luck to you!

Good Times
Just read this thread loud_et. Sorry to hear about everything. Hope the hard cast goes well today.

That's tough dude! At least you managed to walk (OK - not very far - but it WAS a walk) away from it. The good thing is that you'll start to heal soon, and each day you'll feel better. Some days a little, and some days a lot! DAMHIK!
Hang in there, and start moving around as much as you can - when you can. Arnica cream works wonders on bruises. Start exercising your fingers/hand on the broken arm (squash ball works well) with a 'squeezee' in another week or so, to stop the muscles atrophying too much - or the joints from seizing up...'07 Yamaha TTR 250 - Exercycle.

Hi,
I pray you heal quickly and completely. I'm so sorry to hear about your unplanned separation from a moving motorcycle. I hope everything works out and you'll be riding again soon enough. Rest easy.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

It must be a bad boo boo.
Be gentle with it for a week at least.
Don't use the cast as a hammer until at least a week has passed.
The Doctor must have thought that you were going to try and ride it soon so he made it difficult to use the clutch.
Matching color of the bike is a nice touch.

Thank God you're alive, and never feel embarrassed about crashing.
Pretty much everybody does, sometime.
The main thing, is that you're gonna be OK and you have a great attitude.
You can always fix or replace a vehicle, but every time I see crash (I recently came across a fatal bike accident) it really hurts me inside!
(Crashes always occur after you restore a bike, seems like.)

I will make a full list of the damage and parts needed... .
. , I did get paid by insurance so I would be glad to buy the parts from you. , and I feel very lucky only having gotten a broken arm.
.... . Additional thanks to all for the well wishes. Crashing sucks.

crash pics....not so bad
To my surprize the bike got off very easy....
headlamp-shattered
headlight trim ring- bent/ruined
headlight bucket cracked/busted/mounting ears bent
handlebars finished
left handle control unit cracked
clutch perch cracked
right hand control unit cracked
front brake lever bent
ignition cover scratched/dohc sticker ripped off
tank dented (biggest bummer)
right footpeg rubbers got roughed up a bit
megaphone end got dented and #2 header pipe smashed a bit
Not bad at all....not sure how the specific damage happened, on the moment of impact with he guardrail everything sort of went blank.
Bike starts and idles fine, I could actually get on and ride it. (handlebars are a bit crazy tho)
The forks/trees seem fine, no visible bends, cracks, paint blistering.
Will be on the hunt for most of the above mentioned parts.
I already found a tank from a forum member....now the task of matching paint or repainting everythingLast edited by Guest; 09-07-2012, 03:29 PM.

I just got back from a ride with my eldest Son and am busy down-loading pictures and video's.
Just happened upon this thread.
Complete headlight assembly, check.
Handlebar, check.
Tank, check.
Ign. cover, check.
Everything else, check.
Even have another megaphone, check.
How about that incredibly well stocked salvage yard that Old_Skool visits?
