i crashed the 450L.. an Amish horse and buggy

turned in front of me ..i know better but I was passing him just when he got to his turnoff..35 or so mph in 4th gear. I pushed the buggy and the horse sideways but it was a soft hit so to speak.. the buggy shafts were where i ended up hugging, still on the bike.
    I never went down.
I'm a very lucky man tonite.
minor brush burn from the bugy wheels on my right leg, stoved thumb?@@?#$ and I hurt all over.
bike has broken front right turn, very minor tank dent from my knee, caved in front head pipe, and a very oddly positioned rear brake pedal. also th right engine cover logo is crap.
wow. im going to go lay down now

When I lived in Ohio I saw those Amish horse drawn buggy's quite often.
I didn't own a bike when I lived there, but I did give them great leeway
on the road when driving my car, didn't want to spook the horse.
Glad you're OK, damage doesn't look too bad.

Thanks. I live with them all around me and have stated taking them for granted. NEVER AGAIN.
it was my fault. I should have known he was going to turn. you can not assume they won't that's all.

We have a pretty big Amish community here. I'm always cautious be cause I don't want to spook the horse with my V&H.

Glad you are ok. Sorry the bike got banged up.

it's just now hitting me .. I am very very lucky. I had locked up both front and rear brakes and was sliding into them when I hit. I can't believe my leg only got a minor brush burn from something on the buggy. I could have had my foot/leg? and whole damn body crushed in between the bike and the horse/buggy but
            Someone
was looking out for me...the bike took the brunt of the impact from the front to the rear and me? I have a headache and my shoulders are sore now.. but nothing very serious at all. I went out again and looked at the bike. rear of the muffler and the lower fork leg have scrapes, along with the side cover of the motor and the brake pedal. there's also horse hair in the side cover... but not broke??!@#?WTF??

Yikes. Glad to hear you're able to tell the story.

If I had any parts, I'd send them your way. I may have some "S" forks if you need them.

No police? did the buggy signal? any Deutch injuries?
I pass buggies all the time, Middlefield,Ohio is one of the largest Amish communities around. My bike is loud, so I swing real wide and go easy on the gas to not spook the animal.

I know how those buggies are, they go full run and just swing it left into their driveways at home. I can totally see how this happened.
Watch your injuries, although they seem minor, over the next few days some things could develop.
Real sorry about this, If you dont know I just wrecked a week ago. I just messed up on a turn.....hit a damn guardrail. Things happen fast, and its hard to recover once you are in a situation.
                Lesson learned for me.

How hard did you hit your head? Go to the doctors if your headache gets worse, have decreased coordination, numbness or weakness, or if you throw up a lot.

Sorry your bike got so beat up, but as long you aren't dead life is good, yes? Just a little more sad at the moment.
