Some pics of my misfortune. Honestly, the tank shouldn't be that hard to fix and I can always get a new can of carb cleaner. I'm actually pretty happy, it could have been MUCH worse in my mind.

First drop
I was working on the bike today, finally got time to get over to the shop its at. I got the centerstand and put it on, then stood back and thought "well, it shouldn't be that hard." 30 seconds later, I am trying to lift the 400lb girl back to the kickstand. I dropped it, on the right side. Man that was a bitch! But the bike itself is, for the most part, perfectly fine... Except my tank and a can of Berryman's that was right next to it. Honestly it was damn scary for me seeing as how I have NEVER dropped a bike like that and thought something MUST have broke or at least scratched. But alas, Berryman's and my tank saved it from an extremely crappy day. On the bright side, I got my carbs out with no incident. and will be trying to dip them in the deformed barry can tonight

Aw, Man. Dented your tank.
So you dropped it trying to get on centerstand, ..... or was on centerstand and something knocked it forward off centerstand (I almost did that once, caught it just in time).
In your photo of centerstand it looks like it almost straight up and down, seems like the bike should be back more and center stand at more of angle, but maybe cant tell from that photo.
If you dropped the bike putting it up on centerstand, or if getting up on the centerstand is what "should not be that hard"; do a search for postings about centerstand (there are many).
If you do it right it is not hard at all.
In fact, with my 1100GK (ah, not a light bike, and I am not that strong), I have to be carefull or it goes up so fast and hard that it skids forward on the centrerstand and scrapes up the garage floor.
Without giveing detailed step-by-step directions, let me say the trick is to get the bike straight up and down so both centerstand feet on ground and then you stand up on the centerstand tang with all your weight (leg straight, standing on it, not just foot on it, you are standing on it) and then pull up on bike.
Having both of the centerstand's feet on ground is the trick so dont drop it.
And standing with all your weight on centerstand tang is trick so it lifts up easy.

Well, that sucks. I think I'd get a new can for the dip from a paint store. That can's going to spill as soon as you open it.Dogma
