We'll I'm glad your OK all the same. At least your accident wasn't your fault, I can't really say the same. Sure I wouldn't have crashed if the state of NJ gave a crap about road surfaces, but I also wouldn't of crashed if I wasn't following that VW quite so close and had a viable escape route figured out...

Ohh well live and learn as they say.

Good attitude about the crash. Makes you think about the ones you missed. You know, last week I got a speeding ticket in E. St. Louis looking at the new bridge going up there over the Mississippi, and was clocked going 47 in a 35. It was a speed trap, and I am pretty sure I wasn't going that fast. I'm not going to complain though; on the way home I drove over 80 most of the time without getting caught. Some things are just due, I guess.

Tim, remembered your unfortunate crash, and been on the look out for big pot holes ever since. Great you are returning, good timing with prime riding season starting, save for the little nasty winter-in-spring weather. Enjoy and ride safely.

I've only seen 5 potholes in nj. A friend had a stretched/lowered zx 10 dragrace machine. On a rare streetride he hit a bad expansion joint on a rt 9 overpass, smacked the oilpan on the ground, and split the cases. Totalled the bike. one of his saving graces was his calling the D.O.T., under a police officers recommendation, and he found out that there were previous complaints about the bad expansion joint. this helped with his insurance...Plus a thrash to restore it to original ride height and removing the racing parts.

Funny you mention going after the DOT. The same pothole that bent my rim also bent 2 others riding with us. One of them was on a 636 kaw with expensive lightweight wheels. Like more than the cost of my bike wheels... He went after the DOT for replacement costs, and I think he got it.
