Wow, I really like riding motorcycle :)

Guess I had forgotten how much I like to ride motorcycles. My bike was put away for the winter on October 6 last year. Got it out for the first time since then today. Its been a long seven months. Man, I really like riding motorcycles!!!

Got to ride a BMW R1200GS today as well. Great bike! A little tall for me and in no way comparable from a power point of view to my Bandit, but SUPER comfortable riding position. I can see how my buddy puts so many miles on it. True all day comfort.

Can't wait to do it again! Have fun and be safe!

Me too! I got my 1100G out a week ago, on Sunday. I had to give it a real good cleanup, and put in a new battery. I put it away; rode hard and put away wet, then it snowed, and following the first snow temps dipped into the low teens and lower. Too much snow, too cold to clean it up. I got it out, cleaned it up good, now, since last week I've put over 300 miles on. I wish I could ride today but I'm still working on the house renovation. My 1100G now has 97,500 miles on it, she's catching up with the 850 that I haven't had time to work on. I've ridden the 850 twice for short runs since last week, but until I take care of the problems on it, I'm not riding it much.
Yay!, winter has finally slid out the door!

My bike was "put away" in October of 1989! Just got her out (new used) this past October.

And yes, one of my first thoughts was, "Wow! I really like riding motorcycles." And I get that same thought every time I go out with Suzi ('82 1100e).

Every single time I turn onto the main road from my subdivision and give it gas, it's like woooooohoooo!

Today was my first day out since the bike was "put away" in January. A pleasant burn to work in the sun, after dropping the cage off for recall work....

Despite the usual trepidation of whether the old beast would spit up, hiccup, or buck me off after it's layoff, I thoroughly enjoyed the wind in my face, and the acceleration I just can't get in the Subaru.

It will also be the girlfriend's first day as a passenger since I bought her new riding pants (I had to rip the tag off for Pete's sake). For her benefit, and my sanity, I hope the sun sticks around long enough to get back to the car dealership, and keep the girlfriend dry and happy.

Greg, Seems to me that those two statements are somewhat inconsistent with each other.

I've had this feeling since January 2013 when I first got my bike out of the shop and registered in Delaware. (And since Sep2011 when I got my first bike ever)

Rode in cold weather with plenty of layers until summer hit...then it was off to Rehoboth, Dewey, & Bethany Beaches!

My current job brought me to Alamogordo, NM in Oct 2013 and I've been riding quite a bit here (started my 4th week yesterday).

I've got to hand it to my fellow GSR friend MrBill for helping me with my new exhaust system and rear shocks. Next up, 530 conversion and front fork brace install.

Got an Earth Run ride this weekend and the weather's been great...just windy but my 500 lb bike does pretty good (with me tucked into her as well).

I have never used the terms "put away for the winter" or "put away for the season" in the past 40 years. Yes, I REALLY like riding bikes.
If you REALLY like riding bikes there is no such thing as an off season just days that are too cold to ride (below 25F or snow/ice on the roads) or too windy (gusts over 50mph.)

Gusts over 50? You stop for wind gusts? Lame!

Agreed. I have ridden through every NY City winter I've owned a bike. Now the few years I lived upstate (in between Rochester and Buffalo) were another matter. But I still rode as late as I could, and as early as I could in spring.

Sucks enough to put the GSes away for snowstorms. Fortunately I have another bike for them!

Riding in TWO hurricanes was enough of that for me.

Been there, done that, the only time I have ridden down the highway with the wind at my back, engine idling and in neutral with the speedometer reading 60 mph.
