Got a call on my '05 C90 flip today($2,250). I was at the WAWA gassing up my $500 Clist GSX1100G. He asks a few questions and about how much interest I've had in it. I tell quite a bit, but when they ask about the miles I tell them the gauge odo lens is warped, so I don't know. Everyone flakes out after that. It doesn't matter that it doesn't have a single drop of oil on it or that is fires right up with no smoke. So he asks a few more questions and wants to know if i do paypal. I said yes, but I prefer to deal in cash. He tells me the bike sounds like what he needs. Just a summer bike for him to ride and that he's in the Clearwater Tampa area. Long story short I dropped my price $250, he sent a deposit via PP and I'll deliver it for a fee and the rest of the money in cash.

The money arrived in my PP acc. and he calls an hour later asking how much I'd charge to fix the odo lens. I told him I've watched videos on how to do it, but I've never doen it and it might be easier just to get one from ebay. I look and find a nice one just listed today for $100 plus $13 shipping and send him the info. He texts me back that he bought it. Sure enough the listing has ended. I'd have to say that this looks to be like a good deal. My bike has been removed from Clist. Delivery pending on as soon as i can find out when a member here wants the 850 parts bike I got from down in the same area. I got the C90 for $250, spent $350 for the fuel pump, $250 for the Cobra exhaust, $114 for the front tire and $45 for the chrome side covers. I'll double my money when it's all said and done.
It really is the dialogue...how you handle yourself. Not being pushy, being helpful and nice pays off in my book. Regardless of the outcome, I'll know I was an helpful as I could be. Looks like you did very well for yourself!

Just got back from delivering the C90 to Clearwater. Guy was happy to see it and was appreciative about me delivering it. I really didn't mind, I've been wanting to take my wife out someplace special for dinner than the regular date night spots and the is a nice place over by the beach. I was surprised he wanted to pay the balance by Paypal though. I'm glad I brought some coin with me. Dinner cost me $105 with tip. Our normal date night is $20-30. We're both cheap dates. lol My Paypal account may be in shock now though. I'm off the Cocoa in the morning to pick up an '88 VMax to flip. It's going to b tough to let go with only a little over 7k on the clock. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

        The C90

Oh yeah I sold that '82 1100E bobber in the back ground two or three weeks ago, for $900 and paid only $270 for it. Didn't do anything to it after I bought it from work but store it.

Awwwww, that's a nice drive of about 125 miles to deliver a bike. And you got to take out the Mrs to dinner to boot! That is a "once in a while" dinner price I will give up for the sake of happiness.

Heck, the week before my TKR (Total Knee Replacement) last month, I took the wife to Rehoboth Beach for an over-niter. We had a couples massage, dinner and a nice evening strolling on the main street. A little pricier but I'm gonna be out of commission for a little while; PLUS we celebrated 28 years of marriage.

That's a nice, low-to-the-ground trailer you got there. Mine is somewhat lower but with my new knees, I'd be better off with the type you have. Happy "Sales" to you, Rick!

The trailer in the pic is one of my bosses. The filet mignon and lobster was worth the money once a year. The restaurant has an outdoor patio over looking the inter coastal water, so it was nice.

The VMax in Cocoa this morning was a total turd. Enough said about that. Luckily I like driving.

I’ve been doing car flips for years. Mostly 40s through 70s American.3 years ago I was doing 380-560sl Mercedes because I had a contact in Germany. Cars over there rust because of salt so he bought a bunch from me. Normally I got $1000 over my cost and he did the shipping. The best one was a 93 SL 500 AMG with an add on twin turbo kit. The alternator went out and the owner got tired of trying to change it outside in the rain. He gave up and put it on Craigslist 4 minutes before I saw it. Wife and I loaded up the trailer and headed there. He was asking 3300,!!! I eventually negotiated 2300. Loaded up and headed home, fixed the alternator in about half hour a went for a ride. All good. With that twin turbo Mercedes engine spooled up I was really surprised at how strong it pulled.Sold to my German buddy Rollin for20,500. He drove it for a couple days and sold it to a local guy for 25,000 USD. I pulled back from cars and am now concentrating on roughly pre 87 street bikes. Lot less buy in upfront but won’t make as much at the end. Motorcycles are cheap. Lots of fun though.

Wow! That is a sizeable profit on the AMG!
I've lost money on every bike I ever sold except this last one, which was really nothing compared to hours spent fussing with it.
Most I ever spent on one was this April. $2500 track only.
