I swerved a bit to the left and the front tire hit the paint stripe. That's when I lost traction and went down. When I started the slide, the driver finally stopped. Thankfully, I never made contact with the car. The bike slid out ahead of me and I rolled sideways a couple revolutions. I've got some rash on my left knee and elbow. A jammed finger, sore shoulders, a sore rib, and a sore ankle. Overall, pretty minor injuries. The bike has fairly minor injuries too.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

First post-accident ride
I'm grinning today. Had my first ride after the accident. It felt great. Just a short ride. I rebuilt the rear master cylinder on the GS and took it for a little spin before the rain moved back in. My finger is finally feeling better. I had surgery with 2 pins inserted. We tried a splint first, but it wasn't doing the trick. The pins came out last month, and the doctor finally released me this past Thursday. Range of motion isn't what it was, but it gets better each day.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

Well, it took a full 10 months, but my lawyer did come through for me. All my losses were recovered, plus a bit for me. All in all, about as good an outcome as I had hoped for. The finger still doesn't have full range of motion, but it's pretty close. At my age, you just don't heal like the younger folks.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs
