Been searching for days for the original picture from my avatar and finally found it. The photo data tells me it was October 17, 2010. I remember Tom surprised me saying he wanted to ride because I knew he was ill and the weather was not supposed to be great. He wanted to check out Stevens Canyon Road road and this was shot I think at the Stevens Creek Resivoir. We stopped to take a couple photos and then called it off as it was getting very slippery. We talked mostly about his health and I remember being worried because I could see he lost a lot of weight. Godspeed, Tom

Hi,
Tom MLC was the first GSR member to welcome me to the forum six years ago. It was an honor and pleasure to get to know him and ride with him.
From the 2011 Western States Rally:
Tom and his "hot rod" in Bruce's garage.
Rob, Tom, Mike at the lake near Bruce's house.
Tom at Yosemite.
A bunch of us in front of Half Dome: Mark, Martin, Rob, Bruce, Tom, Cliff, Connor, Eric, Bill, Paul, and Eric's wife Susan.
Sunday brunch at the casino: Cliff, Martin, Tom, Rich.
I'm planning to pay my respects at the service. I'm sure I'll see many of you there.
Thank you, Tom, for being one who inspires and encourages.
Prayers for strength and peace for Nami and all the family.

That's Susie, Erics' wife.
I hope we can join up to go pay our respects and celebrate the life of a great man.
I am deeply saddened by his passing.Last edited by chef1366; 01-24-2013, 12:00 PM.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.

Hi,
Thank you. Yes, that's Eric's wife Susan. Sorry, I'll edit my post.
Ray and I are making plans to drive up together on the 8th.
Take care everyone.

Hi,
Lynda Ellingson posted on the "Tom's Friends" Facebook page:
====================
What: Tom's Memorial Service
Date: Friday, February 8
Time: 5-8 pm
Place: Wesley United Methodist Church
566 No. Fifth St.
San Jose, 95112
(this is in Japan Town)
The service will include a time for anyone who wants to say a few words to go to the podium and speak.
Reception to follow at the church.
If you would like to bring a dessert, please call Michelle Murphy (Tom & Nami's daughter) at 619-846-2345.
If you wish, you may make donations to the family's suggested charities at the service.
We are still waiting on specific information about how to donate if you can't attend the service.
Please do not send donations until we receive this information. They want to be sure the charities will register them in memory of Tom.
Thank you.

I just thought you all would like to know. Thank you.

Services
If anyone is coming up (or down for you northern GSer's) for Tom's services this Friday you can use my place as a meeting area and caravan over if you want, as I live about 5-10 minutes away.
Also I'm inviting all locals and any out of towners that are staying the night to go out to dinner after the services. There are some reasonable priced places with good food right in my neighborhood where we can get together eat, drink, laugh, cry and generally celebrate the good guy that was Tom Murphy.
If interested in either proposal or you want the lay of the land regarding hotels drop me a pm and let me know.
Mark
