Not that I'm ragging on Long Island, but its a pretty boring place to ride. Mostly East-West flat roads with tons of traffic. Even out East where your sister lives, local one lane streets get clogged up bigtime on weekends with tourist traffic, and you're lucky to get out of 2nd gear. Think that's why we're all looking for a more scenic place to go, like up in your neck of the woods. Moose run sounds nice in a few weeks, but its about a 10 hour hike from Long Island. WVA next summer sounds like a definite plan though. Now that we've located more guys from around here, hope we can make it a group trip to JoJo's.

btw, did it sound like Geeto67 was volunteering to write up a Bear mountain ride? :-D
I could, my fellow cafe racers and I do a trip up there almost every other week. I have a few really nice ride routes through jersey and westchester, but they are on my home computer and I am at work right now.
We could all do the north shore huntington run (start in port washington run through glen cove, oyster bay, lattingtown, etc), really nice roads but kinda short. "the Shack" seems to be equidistant from all of us, might make a nice meeting place.
By the way, anybody have contact info for chuck wagon racing? I am looking at a gs1100 drag bike he built a couple of years ago and want some more info. Thanks.

Alright Long Island GS-ers, just picked up my bike, and it looks like all is well. So far, running like a champ and NO MORE STALLING! Keeping my fingers crossed that my problems are gone. Let's figure out how we can get together this weekend to meet and maybe take a short cruise. Saturdays weather is supposed to rot , but Sunday and Monday look OK so far . Figure out how we can all hook up and let me know.

My cell is 516-449-2222. Give me a ring maybe Saturday night, and let's see what the weather is looking like for Sunday. Maybe we can get the guys from Centereach and Westhampton too, and pick a place to meet, and we'll go from there.

I look forward to meeting all of you sometime, and hanging out. Age & bike don't matter to me, so long as you're good guys.

Would love to except for a little malfunction, which cut my ride short today to Heckscher Park.
See my post under: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...ad.php?t=98036
I'd love to go for a cruise, but I'm afraid if I ever stopped, I'd have to push almost 600 lbs of dead weight all the way home to Bay Shore. If you had similar issues, who do you think is the BEST zuke mechanic on the Island. Assuming money was not an issue (which it always is) I don't care if he's an east ender or here by me. Ive been working with Chuck from Chuck Wagon racing in Farmingdale, but I'm afraid he's exhausted all his best guesses, and now its gonna be trial and error and more $$$$$$.

Hey DDZ, I'm from Bay Shore, Martin Fink is from Westhampton and Arie is from N. Babylon. I'd like to get together for a cruise with you guys too. 9/10 there's supposed to be a few thousand bikes at Riverhead Raceway for some type of motorcycle ralley. I'd definitely go there if I could make sure my bike was reliable enough. See my prior post.Last edited by Guest; 09-03-2006, 08:55 PM.

If any of you LI guys can either help me figure out my dilemma, or find me a top notch mechanic this week, maybe we could hook up for the Riverhead Motorcycle Fair on 9/10. Sorry for short notice. See link:
