    Color-Tour in the U.P.

I'm getting plans together for a long weekend trip to the upper penninsula next week.

It's about 9.5 hrs from Lansing to Houghton (got to visit son #1 at college), then onward to Copper Harbor. Some really nice twisties up there.

Another potential stop is Tahquamenon Falls...

    Any suggestions for additional/alternative stops?

OH hell yes! I was just there host the "Midwest F ride" this July. H-58 has just been paved from Grand Marais to Munising. 58 heads west out of Grand Marais right at the corner of THE LAKE SUPERIOR BREWING CO.
Also, don't forget 10 curves rd. in Curtis.(when you go to Kim's Talley Ho bar.)
Of course, a road on the nations top ten list is Brockway mountain road in the Kewanaw. Better dress warm.

Wish I was going with you.

Nice! Thanks for the suggestions!! I cannot believe that I missed the Brockway when I went to Copper Harbor last trip! We stayed along the shoreline on 26, never realizing the "other" choice so close. Well, you can bet that's gonna get rectified!!

58 will also get appropriate attention!!

While you are in the Kewanaw, ride up the eastern side to GAY Mich & go to the GAY bar. They specialize in footlong hotdogs & sell T-shirts that say "I had a footlong at the GAY bar" No kidding! Fort Wilkins is a good stop too.

Come to Stockbridge Sunday & I will tell you more about "Da U P".
          Bring a vintage bike.

I was there...but got so caught-up in looking at the cool bikes, I forgot to look you up (sorry). Really nice show.

Great show wasn't it!. So many special & rare pieces. You would have to go to The Barber or Mid Ohio to beat it. Suzi does a great job with this event.

What my friend & I liked most was when the owner of the 1914 Harley fired-it up and it ran like one might imagine it did when new!

Other bikes also competed for my glazed-over eyes too. I hope it's offered again, because I'll become a regular at that show!

Color tour complete! 1,100 miles there & back on my GS850. Great ride, but I'm tired.

Crossing the big Mac under high wind alerts is NOT FUN! Feels like riding on marbles with a small child pushing my left shoulder now and then.

                      Wish I was there…

                      Nice trip,
I want to ride up to the UP myself,
but I also want to take my kayak out along Pictured Rocks.
Can't figure what would be best.
Can't find the time to do either.
