texas event.
Heres a pretty good ride and destination if you are in texas in may. Its the british and european motorcycle rally in New Ulm texas. Go to this site to get the details. bmoaonline.com I had an o7 Bonneville then but all makes are welcome. Fun events, and alot of classic stuff. When I went there were some events for brits and euros only but other than that no discrimination. Its a camping event with a bbq on one day. There is a town nearby for lodgings. I hope to go this year on my gs1100. Its 330 miles but thats not too long.bmoaonline.comTags: None

New Ulm.
That sounds familiar.
Perhaps I went thru there on A GSR Texas Hill Country Ride (March 2005).
Is it in Hill Country area?

Maybe I remember New Ulm from that. But I went west, out toward Fredricksburg.
Perhaps I should look at a map, instead of pestering you guys.

It's not pestering, it's sharing! The Hill Country is definitely a destination. It covers a HUGE area and the roads are are ideal for motorcycles.

West of houston east of austin and a little north of i-10. Im in the rio grande valley where its very flat and straight, with a lot of bad drivers. Id like to put my gs through some paces in a hillier area sometime.

Oh yeah, we do have a "roar by the shore" event at south padre island twice a year (next one is april). Its not bad, but its heavily a harley type affair , the majority. With the rest mostly sport bikes. Im going to be the only gs Ill bet. This is about as far south as you can get. Probably not worth it to any one north of san antonio. Its 300 miles south of it.

South Padre is a bit too too small, particularly for one of "those" kinds of bike rallies. I'll stick to the area where I live and attend the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach. It saves me from laughing at those weekend pirates.

Gonna check out the BMOA this year for sure; heard it's not to be missed. Been to the Harvest Classic three times, and hopefully will be going again this year... hurry up October!
In the meantime, check out this first year event!: Austin Moto Fest
To be held April 13... the weekend before MotoGP hits Austin's new Circuit of the Americas track --where F1 ran last Nov. Gonna be a blast, and rumor has it that there'll be a couple notable GS's there

The last weekend of this month we are meeting in HICO for lunch/pie. I plan to ride my GS1k if it's up and running with a good title by then.
There's usually also a night prior campout which I also usually attend.
