The big metal dragon is across the street from the store in killboy.com's parking lot. It's only been there about a month.

Ah... maybe that is why I didn't see it the 2nd week of April.
      Thanks Ian.

In Scudder's photo of the metal dragon sculpture, can look across street and see just a part of the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort brown dragon sign (and flag pole).
      This sign:

      >>later note.
Oh. You are saying the metal dragon is in Killboys parking lot (I was thinking of that place as "T-Shirt Shack") ... which is across the street from Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort.

Thanks for posting pics and telling of some of your adventure.

I could see some more pics, if you have more.

Did you find yourself on any of the 3 photo services websites?

Yep, that 11 mile section not for sightseeing.
I overheard one guy say "only sight seeing you should be doing is watching the yellow line and the white line, else you will become part of the scenery."

What did your BMW buddy think of your campground mechanical repair project with your spare parts you carried along?
I say that going al the way on a 30 year old bike (that you have had only recently), and only having this one problem is fairly good.

I found a couple pics on 129 photos. I'm waiting for my riding buddies to get their photos and video to me. They took more photos than I. They both took video of the ride. As they get the pics to me I will put them up.

We already are planning a UP Michigan trip next year same time. We plan on riding the Loop from Chicago through Michigan to the UP, over to Wisconsin and back to Chicago land.

My BMW riding buddy has a hard time wrapping his head around me riding an old bike, and carrying spare parts, etc. He's a technology man, who really enjoys all the buzzers and whistles. More power to him, but I'm not there. I like the old bikes. When I was talking to a guy on the trip I told him I always wanted a 1980 gs850 when I was a freshman in College (when the bike was new). He said if I'd had it then, I may have never survived to ride it now. I laughed, and agreed.

                Tail of the Dragon Video

Here's the video, if anyone is interested. One of many videos on youtube taken of the Tail of the Dragon.

Next week I'll be home for the summer and riding my "S" up to the Gap for breakfast.

                  Ready Ian?

Sadly no. My GS is still in pieces. Wait for me at the top, I'll take the Supra.
