Godspeed Joe and Cathy! Hope you have a blast! I'm sure you'll be too busy during the trip to keep us posted, but look forward to an update when you get back.

BTW Joe...time to update your signature. It still shows the Shiver

and one that note...I talked to Kurtis yesterday. He and Katie are really enjoying the Shiver

      Garth,

Blue rim tours is the tour arm of RoadRUNNER magazine. Frank does some tours with them and some on his own through fcmototours.com. This one is actually one of his tours even though it is listed on the Blue Rim Tours website. No links but there will be plenty of pics.

      Thanks,
      Joe

Thanks Greg. Signature has been updated to reflect Jon's Dorsoduro.......

I'm taking a notebook PC so I might check in and post an update or two but I may be too busy enjoying the trip. I'll definitely update this thread after the tour.

We got home from the tour around 7pm tonight. The tour went great despite marginal weather and the deaths of two tour members' parents during the tour. We had an awesome time reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. The riding was great and the colors were pretty good. We received a lot of compliments from the tour members and hope this will become an annual gig.

          Thanks,
          Joe

                    Rob,

The kissing pigs pic was taken by Cathy (actually ALL the pics were taken by Cathy, except for the pics with her in them and I don't know who took those) at a place named the Bar-B-Q Ranch in Harrisonburg Virginia. We always stop there on this tour. They collect all kinds of pig dolls, toys, etc. There are some far worse than the kissing pigs............................

You can see some of the collection below.

                        Garth,

The museum is the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley North Carolina. The owner, Dale Walksler, is a great guy with an unbelievable knowledge of American motorcycles. He has a show on the Velocity channel named What's in the Barn. The hotel where we park under the entrance way is the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke Virginia. It is a beautiful hotel built in 1882. It is owned by Virginia Tech University and managed by Hilton as a DoubleTree property. They have an outstanding breakfast buffet!

Yes, the tour covers some beautiful country. We ride all 469 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway along with many other great Appalachian Mountain roads. There is no lack of twisties or scenery on the tour.

                        Thanks,
                        Joe
