    Hagerty Museum in Traveres Michigan

June 27th The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club is putting together a ride to the Hagerty Insurance Headquarters in Traverse City Michigan. It's a by invitation only tour of there museum, with a two night stay at the Caberfae Peaks Resort in Cadillac Michigan. This get together/ride sounds interesting to me.
My Question is, has anyone toured the museum? I'm wondering if it's worth using three days of my vacation time? The Museum tour is on a Thursday, It would give me a chance to ride around Michigan Friday-Sunday.

is the Mosquito really Michigan's state bird? ☺
    My Motorcycles:
22 Kawasaki Z900 RS (Candy Tone Blue)
22 BMW K1600GT (Probably been to a town near you)
82 1100e Drag Bike (needs race engine)
81 1100e Street Bike (with race engine)
    79 1000e (all original)
    82 850g (all original)
    80 KZ 650F (needs restored)

Whats the theme of the museum??? I assume motorcycles??? Robin is the state bird...LOL but i can see the logic of it being a Mosquito. Im a 48 year Michigander so I know the struggle!!!

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

I'm not familiar with the museum but the area is gorgeous. Beautiful forest, river and lake areas. Not a whole lot of wide open sky! It's definitely worth a few days if you can avoid the weekend crowds Once you get off the Interstate most everything is 2 lane blacktop and busy Friday eves and Sunday afternoons (it is a resort area). Good plan to have accommodations reserved in advance. Very popular area.

I can tell you this I live in Cadillac Mi area and am planning on going!
But as close as I am to Traverse City I have never heard of the Haggerty Collection or Museum! My guess is there are many cars there more than bikes I would think. It is a great place to ride from here to there.
Another place you should check out and its closer to you is the Gilmore Car Museum, its huge and VERY nice. They have a vintage bike event every spring. I have been there the last two years great area and lots of fun and cool bikes show up, both for display and ridden in.
Last year I would say close to 500 bikes rode in on Sunday.
Yes mostly Harleys rode in but the show has lots of vintage Japanese and a good swap meet!
It is in Hickory Corners between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Mi

Lived in Traverse City over 20 years and can't seeing it being a very big event if it's heald at their office. They have room for a handful of cars which are cool to see but isn't big enough to hold more than maybe 20 bikes. That time of year you won't find a place to park, traffic is insane, the people in general are pretty snooty and the prices for pretty much everything are outrageous. Used to tell my out of town friends if they wanted to visit to come the two weeks before memorial day or the two weeks after labor day. The weather is nice, the tourist spots are open and there's few people around. As to riding, try M-22 from TC north to Northport and loop back down to Empire. It roughly follows the shore of Lake Michigan with lots of places to stop, eat and drain your wallet.
              1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)
              1982 GS450txz (former bike)
LONG list of previous bikes not listed here.

I identify as a man but according to the label on a box of Stauffers Baked Lasagne I'm actually a family of four

No, I couldn't swing it. So many things to do this summer and I'm running out of vacation time! However, I did put in a request for another week of vacation time. I'm not holding my breath. We get 15 days, I have 5 left. Got the Traveling Picnic coming up. I got a golf outing I can't miss. I'd like to get to Vermont sometime this summer. Do you understand the predicament I'm in? Yeah boss, another 5 days would sure help... 😕

                    I went
                    It was a great time!
But you are right The last week of July and Traverse City was already nuts with the Cherry Festival and people looking up to watch the Blue Angles practice overhead instead of watching for motorcycles!
Besides that it was a fun day, with 79 bikes signed up and around 50 that showed up.
