I got home about 11am -- there was steady rain from Bloomington all the way to Indy, but hey, at least it held off for most of the weekend and while I was packing this morning!

Thanks to all for a safe and drama-free gathering. This whole thing has the most amazing "vibe", you know? Hard to describe unless you've been there.

And of course massive thanks to Jay, Pam, and the rest of the Patel family for the warm hospitality. And special thanks to Bonita for all she does as our loving "den mother".

I think the first-timers all had a great time, and it was wonderful to catch up with the old hands.

We made it home 10:30. It wasn't raining when we left the parking lot but started sprinkling after gassing up in Bedford, and rained steadily all the way to Dayton. The Goldwing performed flawlessly and Laura says it was a comfy ride for her. Always nice to see all the folks at least once a year and thanks to Jay and family, Bonita and Steve for helping me get the wing set up correctly as well as educating me on how the brakes operate. Until next year. Pics forthcoming.⁰

Made it home. A little wet, a little cold, a little dirty, a little tired, and a lotta worn out.

Was an awesome weekend. Always great to catch up with the old skoolers, and meet the new comers.

Already can't wait for next year...

It was awesome meeting everyone, and I was blown away by Jay's hospitality (and his and his wife's cooking skills!). My riding skills felt measurably improved after spending a day chasing Dale and Brian on their GSes with my Bandit. I'll definitely try to make it for the full weekend next year, now that I've gotten a taste.

Steve, Bonita, and I made it home a few hours ago wet but in one piece. Thank you again for another great weekend; there's just no better way to spend time away from the family and work than this.

Home safe about 30 minutes ago. Lovely day riding. Glad I took the fun way instead of the fast way!

The rain followed me the whole way but didn't find me until I was almost home. But it was short lived and all is well.

Today was the icing on the cake of the whole weekend. I'll echo all the thanks for our wonderful host, his family, Mr & Mrs Steve, their snacks, shade, and willingness to help anyone with anything. Also like to thank Larry for pointing out my flat tire (sort of suspicious that HE noticed it...hmmmm). And a big thanks to the hundreds of spectators that amassed in seconds to watch, heckle, and offer advice and tools.

Thanks also to those that patiently allowed me to lead them around the hinterlands. Wrong turns, u-turns and all. I only lost two of them once. Not bad.

Great to meet and ride with new folks too. So glad people continue to find this event or get invited to it. This really a special group of folks. Some more special than others.

Such a great weekend. Wish we could start it all over again tomorrow. Can't we? Oh wait, I'm not retired...like SOME people.

How will you know if someone at a GS rally is retired? Don't worry....they'll tell you.

Today I changed the windshield out for the taller and more swept back one on the goldwing and changed the seat to the road sofa that came extra with it. Wishing I'd had those on for the weekend! Dang!

                    Home about fivethirtyscreenwettwillpotmorelater

                    >>>>> Monday morning rewrite:

My thanks to Brian for what organization he does.
And Bonita and crew and Jay for making the dinners happen.

Home about 530pm (930am-530pm, 310 miles, several 10-15minute stops, rain off and on most of the way. Several times I thought I should have stayed at Rosemount another day. 62-66 degrees most of the way.)
Got water in phone screen protector (probably while taking home-arrival-selfie) and some keys not responding (such as space bar and return).
Will post pics later (after some time with wife, rather than ignoring her to spend more time with strangers I meet on the internet).
                    Some pics maybe yet today.

Left at 4:50am, got in about 3:40, 630 miles is a long day for my old bones.
Did NOT succeed in dodging the rain, hit some real downpours on 37 and 150, but the worst of stopped by the time I hit I-64. Just some very light rain after that.

Had a great time! Been trying to make this event for a few years, so glad that it worked out this time. Thanks to everyone, really enjoyed finally putting faces to all the names and the forum conversations over the years. Good roads, cool bikes, great people, doesn't get much better.

I also had a wonderful time with all you guys.
However, I was done riding in the rain is why I left early Saturday morning...
It sure was a pleasure riding with Dave on Friday. (Missed you Indybob).
Ron, uncle Larr, always brings a smile to me when I see them.
Steve and Bonita, a big thanks for all they do. Snacks, water Organizing the pizza party...
A big thanks to Brian for putting this all together.
Jay, for making us feel so welcome.
Sure I missed a few fellows that couldn't make it. But it was nice seeing a couple new faces.
Let's just keep up what we are all doing, and meet up again next year!
                          You folks are the best!

Neal, Rich Desmond, Scott CowboyUp were part of the crowd spectating.
In background there: Stephans friend Alex, Dale Dogma.

Greg discussing the technical aspects of the procedure with crowd that stayed around afterwards.
Scott Cowboyup, Neal, Rich Desmond, Greg showing the kit, Steve Steve, Stephen, Larry Alkie, Casey Spyder

Greg had the kit, and had a pump stored under the seat that clips to the battery.
So had tire back in service in quick order, after it was noticed flat in the parking lot while we were all sitting around eating dinner.

                              Other note:
Am still tired from the travels, so took afternoon napp before posting these pics on a Monday afternoon.
