I started getting wet within 10 miles of Bedford. Rain pants melted to my exhaust, gloves soaked through. Hands freezing.
stopped at a truck stop somewhere, and bought a pair of “cold weather” rubber coated work gloves. Hands nice and toasty for the rest of the ride.
    Buffalo is still filthy…

        Some other roadside pics.
I just dont find roads like this around home.

        >> later note:
My Mileage total for the 4 day weekend : 977 miles.

With about 660 of that being just getting there and back.
So, in the two days of riding there was only about 150 miles a day.

Some other years in the past the total was well over 1100 miles.

Finally got home today at 4:00p.m. I turned a 3 day rally into 10 days. But in all seriousness, a few of those days were spent with family.
Finished up my travels with a side trip to Farmington Mo. on Wednesday and managed to get in 275 miles on a couple of great roads, namely, OO, C, HH and 34. Will do it all over again in September.

In those 275 miles, I had to duck to avoid getting hit by a turkey vulture. The next thing that got my heart rate up was as I was exiting a curve and rolling on throttle, there appeared before me no more than 30 yards in front of me a young deer. Lucky for me, I scared the deer more than the deer scared me. He darted into the woods and I breathed a sigh of relief.

A big thank you goes out to Dave (Redman) for a nice collection of photos. This years pics are of course great photography and spectacular scenery in southern Indiana. Thank you Dave.

Wish I took more pictures. Here is everything I captured during the 4 day weekend.

On my way up to Bedford, I stopped at the Williams cover bridge. It's on the detour around the 450 bridge construction. Last time I was here was with Painter Dave and we rode across it. That seems like a long time ago.

Lots of graffiti. This particular artwork caught my attention, so naturally I proceeded on.

I was however disappointed. No boobs at the bridge during my visit.

On my way home, stopped for a rest at the Deer Creek boat ramp, right where 66 turns east/west toward Cannelton. There was a skinny, methy-looking feller fishing near the ramp. He didn't catch anything while I was there. But there were all these fish lined up, from biggest to smallest. The biggest one was about 3 feet long. I assume caught by skinny dude. Quite a haul I thought. But strange way to treat your catch I thought. But I'm not much of a fisherman, so what do I know.

Then skinny dude gets in his crappy beat-up chevy/buick/something POS car and just drives away. Leaves all his fish right there.

Or, maybe they weren't his fish. Seems strange that someone would pull all these out of the lake, lay them out like that, and leave them. Why wouldn't you take them or throw them back? Maybe they're some invasive species or something? Only reason I can think of. Maybe leave them to feed the birds?

Anyway, thats all the pics I took. Wish I'd taken some of the people and bikes and scenery. Wish I'd had a zoom lens to take a picture of the kids we saw walking across the Tulip trestle.

                Odd fishing story…
don’t know much about fishing either.
                maybe it’s a ritual? Lol

Also not a fishing expert but I *think* most of the larger ones lined up are all carp. So yeah, invasive "trash" fish tho plenty of other cultures eat them. Left them for the birds I guess but boy that is gonna be a stinky spot for days to come lol

I finally got around to looking over the pictures I took from last weekend and though I had a lot there really wasn't much I liked. Here are a few though.

For those that don't know, here's the scene of any crimes we may commit over the four days

After breakfast on Friday, I headed south to Tell City on IN-145 making my way back up IN-545 and 62. Very nice trip and if anyone is ever in Tell City, be sure to stop into Bill and Dave's Smokin' Pit barbecue for some fantastic food. After lunch, I finally stopped in to see what this church was in St Meinrad. I need to make another trip out there to actually tour the full St Meinrad Archabbey as I just learned they provide them.

What impressed me the most, was watching Steve back that big trailer in next to the mini van in ONE SHOT!
Heck, I'd still be there going back and forth, turning one way, no the other way!

Norm, all I want to know is If you've let go of the Stator Journal thing w/ Steve, and is Steve ever coming back on the forum. Not sure why he left, but he is missed.

PS. I'm still waiting on Chuck Hahn to send Stator to me I think. We PM'd about it a few times months ago. He could have just has a great camping weekend.

That picture of the Rosemount looks like the Bates Motel... Steve made mention that he had been spending so much time on the forum, he kinda got burned out on it. Hopefully he'll be back. Was glad to see the Steve's there.
