So got off the Horn with my good friend in Florence KY and he's offering me a place to crash. I haven't seen him in years and will likely crash with him.
Still trying to sell the idea to the wife though...
Plan would be to depart VT around 5AMish Wednesday and get to KY by 6PMish, hang out and crash. Hang with my buddy Thursday morning and take the quick 2.5 hour ride to Bedford.
Sunday I will bid all ya'll cats an adieu with a super early departure and watch the sunrise as I slog the 1000 miles back home to Vermont.
6 Years since I last came to this one, looking forward to making it out and seeing everyone!.. Just have to convince Momma bear.
Also hoping for no chain snapping this year!!! Maybe I should just take the Wing to be safe!

Haven't signed in here for some time... Thanks for kicking this off once again Brian !

I'm in for the rally of course, and hope to get some scouting rides in beforehand.

I've almost track of how many bikes I've attended on...8 different bikes I believe. In some kind of order, 1000L, 1100G, Connie, 1000E, SV1000 , KLR, 850G and FJ-09. Surprisingly and couple GS have gone thru the stable and not made it to BC, the 1100E and 750E, a few others now forgotten.

      Happy Trails !

If you can manage it at all, make sure you leave some time to soak in a few of the EPIC roads in eastern KY. For example, 22 on either side of Falmouth is most famous.

Also, perhaps consider crossing the Ohio River into Indiana using the ferry at Rising Sun.

It's operated by the casino to increase their supply of Kentucky grannies to pluck, but there's no requirement at all to be a patron of the casino or a granny. It was still free last fall.

          Excellent!
Thank you for this, I could make a day trip on Thursday on my way over from Florence KY.

          I'll add to the plan.

          Thank you!

The MOST reliable ride ever - and 1000+ miles is just a good warm up ride - 3-1/2 gas stops and you are done

IF I can find the electrical gremlin in the 850 I will ride her to the fun - or else I can bring the BIG GURL and ride easy on the comfort of a Barcalounger.

I'm playing with the idea of getting the Bonnie to 200K miles so I would obviously take the T120. It is the most fun in the twisty stuff.

The Wing obviously is the easiest bike to take!

                Wife approved. I’m in!
I’ll put in for Vacation this week. Won’t be a problem. Will take off Thursday thru Monday (likely will need a rest day).
Will be riding to Norm’s and spending the night Wednesday. Meeting Justin there as well. I have to work out those details with them.
So need room tor Thurs, Fri, Sat nights. Don’t care who I bunk with.
As much as I’d love to be on the GS, I’ll be on the Tiger, it’s built for long hauls. This will be by far the farthest I’ve ever ridden.

Brian, this will be my first rally, so I’m not clear on how you or Jay handle room payment, etc. please let me know what you need from me.
Can provide email and cell # as needed.

Really looking forward to this, and meeting and riding with you all.

I maintain the rooming list, and you'll pay Jay when you get there.

Generally, I review this thread, send out a massive email, and post here when I start putting together the list sometime in March. If you're flexible about rooming arrangements, that can be very helpful with this game of human tetris. The goal is to fill all the rooms, and things always change around as people drop in and out as rally time approaches.

For the last several years, rooms with tax were around $60 - $65 or a little less, but I don't know whether Jay will finally raise the rates this year. I tell him every year to bump it up, but he likes us or something.

The riding is choose-your-own-adventure. I'll hand out maps (they're getting pretty old, but the roads don't change much) and share some GPX tracks. Small groups only, please, and many riders wander off on their own, or jump around as the spirit moves them. One of the neat things about this rally is spotting each other at random all day.

Awesome! glad Lori gave you the pass!

I'll likely meet you and storm 64 at the Inn in Indiana. I plan to make the run solo out, spend time with a good friend of mine and his family in KY and than solo run it back.

Be good to see everyone! Love this meet because you get many GSR personalities in one place!

Still need to decide what to ride out.

                          Best,

I made my reservations at the Holiday Inn Express
Arriving Thursday evening - Not sure which bike I will be riding
The 850 has a short in the electrical system that takes out all the light except the headlamp
The signal circuit needs love (tracing)
If that is working - The GS850GL will make the trip
Elsewise I will be on the Goldwing
I can only hope all will be well when the time comes
