I made it home just after 1pm and fortunately dry. The rear tire gave me a moment’s pause to think but otherwise it was fineCowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

I got home about 1:00 and aside from almost exactly 30 seconds of heavy rain outside Bloomington, not worth stopping for, I stayed dry.
Thanks for a great time everyone!

Got home at 3:00. Had to stop once just inside Ohio border to put rain gear on. Rode through some heavy rain for about 10 minutes. Stopped in Oxford to remove sweat inducing rubber suit. Clear the rest of the way. Thanks Brian and Jay and Bonita (Mrs. STEVE) for another fun time.Current Bikes:

Also home safe and sound.
Rich just left my house on his way home. He might run into a cooling shower... It's 85 and humid!
Yes, definitely a big thank you to Jay, Brian and all involved, making this a fun rally.
Also wishing Dale a speedy recovery...

I developed some of my pictures from the weekend. It all started on the federal holiday Wednesday when I started south for Campbellsville. Although the GPS likes to put me on some highways occasionally, it actually kept me on the right road so that I found this in the middle of nowhere near what used to be the old Russell House in Perryville KY. I don't remember hearing about any Civil War battles in this part of the state but now I'll have to head back just to tour the town.

The next day, I took off for Abraham Lincoln's birthplace which I missed out on seeing two years ago by ten minutes. It was a very nice site to see though it is a little disappointing to learn the cabin inside the memorial was not the exact one where he was born (they discovered the error several years after the memorial was built and dedicated by Theodore Roosevelt).

Left Hodgenville for Bedford and had a terrific ride up IN-62 and IN-150 but my steering felt real funny as I turned onto the last stretch of US50 near the hotel. It was so bad I almost couldn't turn into the hotel parking lot properly. Quickly parked the bike and discovered this nasty surprise:

I'm not sure what I ran over but with Brian's and Bob's (Baatfam's) help, the first night of parking lot maintenance was a success.

Tents went up that night and I had a great ride with Rich, Dave, and Justin the next day to Bean Blossom Bridge and lunch at a nice little greasy spoon in Bloomington

Saturday was my chance to return to the Saint Meinrad Archabbey to tour the grounds, something I couldn't do last year

Thank you for another great year and hope everyone else had a great time.

I got to my sister's place in Veedersburg and cannot find Amish Amos anywhere. I haven't seen him post anything in quite a while, so maybe he has assumed another forum name, who knows.
Anyway, I just want to say thanks to Jay and all the rest of the people {especially bwringer} involved in putting this event together. It's really super good to get to see all of the attendees again. It feels like a family reunion every time we meet, only better.
I hope Dale has a good recovery and can get back to normal as soon as possible without rushing to do so. Best of luck Dale.Larry

Did catch rain for about 20 minutes right after departure, then steamed in the rain gear for another hour and half till the dark clouds dissapated. (Justin and Jay explaining the benifits of the AeroStitch suits.)
Was the only rain of the four days. Had plenty of mid 90s and humid, THursday and Friday and Saturday, so 78 today was good.
On on way home today, We had a couple hours of "adventure routing" to get to Lebanon (avoiding Indy), then headed over to US31 for the blast north home. Home about 6pm (1050 miles for the 4 day weekend).
Good weekend.
One great part was getting to meet Rich82GS750TZ. His first BC rally.
And triumpfant return of JohnPaul.
Had bikes there from Pennsylvania(Rich78GS750TZ), Virginia (Rich Desmond), New Hampshire(friend of RobinDean) , this year along with the more usual Indiania, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Nebraska.
My thanks to Brian for what he organizes. Ron for arranging the snacks and drinks. Rodney for organizing the pizza. Bonita and Jay for the Saturday Feast.
Pictures later. (Have domistic things to attend to.)
Yes, pictures will include some GS's.Last edited by Redman; 06-23-2024, 08:39 PM.http://webpages.charter.net/ddvrnr/GS850_1100_Emblems.jpg
