    Thanks for the pic Rich.
Yah, on this ride, that I was leading, In addition to me gettting lost before getting out of town, and then about 10 miles out of town haveing to stop to check map again, the other feature of a Redman-led ride is me stopping somewhere for a roadside group photo. And sometimes a ride partisipant is annoyed with such. But you hop off your bike and get out a tripod and get the picture for us. Thanks.

Damn, Dave....That sounds great! Next rally I want to ride with you...

As for photos, I still have to go through them, including ones I didn't take (thanks Rodney and Mary!), so probably tomorrow some time.

Haha. Sorry Dave. Didn’t mean to step on your toes there. And getting lost is part of the fun for me.

Just rolled in at 9pm. 5 hrs on I-80 with a few comfort and gas stops. I think because I donned my rain gear just inside the PA border, I managed to ride perfectly between two storm fronts traveling in the same direction. Think I sweated off the 5lbs of Indian food I ate last night.

Thank you everyone in attendance for making me feel welcome at my first rally and not made to feel like the new guy. Though I felt like I knew a lot of you already and had previously met Norm and Scott B, it was really nice to put faces to names and get to socialize and ride with this great group. Made a lot of new friends.

Thanks especially to Norm for putting me up for a night so I could break up the trip and for trailering the bikes. I can’t imagine riding the whole way in that heat.

Thanks to Dave and Justin, Scott B, and Norm for leading me on some epic rides and showing me the sites. I’d have been lost without you.

Thanks to Brian for putting it all together. Thanks to Bonita for all she does and especially the expert tick removal. (Anyone get a pic of that?) and to Steve for all he does for the group. So nice to finally meet these two.

And special thanks to Jay, the absolute Legend.

Prayers for Dale and a speedy recovery.

        Cant wait till next year!

Thank you all so much for sharing, it's great to see the pictures! Wish I could have made it but there was divine plan as we were on Tornado watch all day yesterday getting hammered with storms, not fun to ride all day through.

              TO report on other things:

              - head counts I heard of was Low 20s for friday evening (pizza) and mid 20s for Saturday evening. ANd we did cover all the rooms (were some dropouts in the last coiple weeks, but then some double-up-shares were then moved to indivual room).

              - Scott Cowboy had a flat tire upon arrival. But had a puncture repair kit. ANd someone else had a pump.

              - In FrenchLick, Justin was trying to lead us to some overlook, and got us (JayRedmanSIL and I) into an uphill sloped sideways narrow uneven lumpy road, and then that road turned and ended at a barracade. So we took turns doing 3 or 4 point turns, up hill and slopped on lumpy road. ANd Jay found a place where there was seemily no road under his foot - - kafump over down. Broke footpeg on shifter side. Other two of us had a hard time even finding some place to park to go back and help. Devised plan for swapping a rear peg, but between the tools we did have, just could not do it. And its 96degF and blaring sun and humid. Jay says he can makeit back to motel. So he hits up his google for route back to motel, and says is selcting "shortest", not "adventure". I am saying ah lets look at a map, I think we can go east a ways get to 37 for a somewhat straight road. But those guys dont need no stinking map, and off they go. And a short ways out of town, turn north on a up and down and curvey road (looking at Brian map later, I think its the red-dot-highlighted road). I wanted to get on intercom and say "your google maps have option for road needing the least shifting?".... (more to that story later)
On the way out of FrenchLick my air temp indicator showed some 98 and 99 and for a short while 100.

              - I will let the folks involved report on the major incident of the weekend.
BUt will say that three groups of people at the motel that had trailers each devised plans for getting Dale Dogma's bike home, and his stuff home from the motel.
THe other bike involved, it seems its final destination will be handled by the tow/salvage yard, and its rider did have a way home.

Unfortunately, I am that guy this time. While riding sweep I went down and my bike spun into Dogma Dale. I won't go into details or make excuses; I am responsible for myself and my machine, but I can say wholeheartedly that the feeling of being responsible for another rider friend's misfortune and injury is an experience I don't wish on anyone. Thank yous and apologies go to Neil and Jon for helping to get me and Dale's bike back to the motel, to Brian and Robin for drastically modifying their day and for checking on Dale and providing updates. Thank you to everyone that was so supportive and understanding upon my return. My apologies and vigilant prayers are with Wendy and Dale and my hope is for his rapid and complete recovery. I am in reevaluation mode, but I know that in one way or another, I'll be back to spend time with this wonderful group of friends and enthusiasts. The gear mostly worked, but the bruising grows larger and more impressive by the day and extends into more delicate areas that are not pictured. Crashing sucks...0/10; Do NOT recommend.

I got home around 6 last evening. Iran into a few light showers, but it felt refreshing compared to the previous days. Thanks to Brian for organizing this. I had a great time, and it was nice to put some more names and faces together.

No Brown County Rally is complete without stopping for a picture in Norman, Indiana. After the picture I pulled into the diner in Norman. I chatted with the waitress for a bit. She told me that I should sign the guest registry book that they had.

After that I went south, I got lost. I came up on a tree cutting crew, I waved as I went by. I rode some more, I came up on another tree cutting crew I waved. Then it realized IT WAS THE SAME CREW! I must have made a big circle without knowing it...

Then with all the heat 95° plus, I was getting sleepy. I found a park with shade and a picnic table. I snoozed for 45 minutes! I found a new thing "Moto-Napping"!

I'm usually not a big fan of Indian food. But this year I found it very appetizing. Maybe I'm acquiring the taste for it? Even the dessert Jay makes me eat every year I found okay.

It was nice hosting Rich and riding with him during the weekend. It made the drive there and back much more enjoyable.
It was nice meeting up with all my goof-ball GS friends. I really had a fun time. 20240622_094235.jpg

That desert (I quit asking what it is) is great! Sweet, creamy - something made from boiled down rice or something, I cant tell if rice or cheese, something with a sweet flavoring something like vanilla but not anything I can identify, but is good. Biggest problem I have with the desert is that I have already ate so much of the other stuff.

Yah, after everyone goes thru the line and gets a plate full or two. THen Jay comes out with the desert, and goes around to everybody and wants everyone to have some, and some more.

(maybe my pic caught everybody mid-bite....)

Jay grilling chicken. Coated in something. Is well cooked but not at all dried out....

Bonita (Mrs Steve) taking care of other stuff for the serving line.

Jay explaining what he got there.
Bonitia serving up the corn-on-cob that Jay grilled before grilling the chicken.

Even people (like myself) that said, "naw, I dont like Indian food", and even people (like myself) that said, "naw, I dont eat it if I dont recognize what it is"...... they should just shut up and try it (like I did)... and then they will say (like I do) "I dont know what this is but it is good.", and go back for more. And then Jay comes around with "have some desert there, I want to give you some desert there, here you need more there".

Really wish I could have gotten The Buffalo together in time to make it down. I finally got her together and charging around 3pm on Saturday. Really considered riding down anyway, but reluctantly dismissed that thought. Hoping for a speedy recovery to all injuries. Dale is tough, he will get through this.

Departing, about 7am Thursday for the 330 mile trip (if go direct, but avoid Indy).

Hum, can see tree limbs I havent trimmed, and garage front needing restained, all that I was gonna get done before weather got hot,,, hum...

Hey, I made it to Dannville Indiania (a little bit west of Indy) before 1pm.
Found some bikes parked, and guys sitting in courthouse lawn. Larry Alke from Nebraska, and Ron GS750 from Kentucky and Spyders Brother In Law James(?), but no Spider.
And in a little while in rolls Justin RedmanSon after he spent a few hours sleeping in a hammock in the woods somewhere after an Iron Butt 1000miles in 24hours all in Indiania.
And after a while in rolls a guy with New Hampshire plates that introduced himself as a friend of Robbin Dean.
And after a while in rolls the NortWestIndiania and Indy guys; Greg Wazz, Tim twr1776, and Brian bwringer (and maybe I missing someone).
All for lunch at Mayberry cafe across the street. Here is view from resteraunt upstairs window.

(I can ID most of the bikes and say whos is which... but never mind, I'll spare the details.)

Justin and I were gonna ride together after lunch. I was talking about taking this road and then that road. Justin talking about talking "scenic" or "direct" or "adventure" or "shortest" or "fastest" (or some other such descriptions) route, and not even looking the map I was pointing to. (I had not yet relized this was going to be a repeat situation.) He said he got a route in his GPS. So we had the adventure route to Bedford, maybe 20 roads. Was good. Crossed paths with a group of about 5 of the other guys.

                                Got to motel.
Saw Brian and Scott CowboUp working on tire puncture repair. Here is Scott with this bare pump that was too hot to hold.
