    Post being dropped when submitted

    Please help.
On several occasions I have typed a long post, hit the submit button and everything goes away! The page keeps saying auto saved, and when I submit, it logs me out and most of the content of the post is lost! Is this to prevent someone from writing a novel here? I have read much longer posts than mine. How do you do it? Is there a time out setting or something?

    Thanks,
    Roger

Sometimes if I've attempted to be encyclopedic, I'll copy everything I've written, ready to paste it back in if it's been too long.

When you log in, do you hit the "remember me" button?

I have found that if, for some reason, I have not hit it (on work computer, for example), I need to refresh the page every so often or it will log me out. On my personal computer, I have it checked so it 'remembers' me, and I don't have that problem.

It makes for a quicker log-in, too. When I hit the GSR favorites tab, I am immediately on the forum page and only have to hit the New Posts tab to start reading.

It has happened twice in the last couple weeks. I try and post and I get a popup telling me I exceeded the message length by do much and the edit dialog just dissppears

I did not have the "Remember me" checked. Will from now on though.

Guess I could type in a word doc. then past when I'm done and ad pics pretty quickly.

I think you still have to link pics from a hosting site.

That's happened to me but not since I learned my lesson that lengthy posts and time spent will get you kicked off. I've done the "back" arrow and was able to save my text. I like to use Notepad instead of Word to keep the same format.
