Looking at the Coker site, there is very little information about the tire, but it appears that it would fit.
You "bought the rim on eBay and realized it is different." Different in what way? Exactly what is your concern?

I would guess he's asking if the wheel will fit? That size is the stock rear for an L. If that is the wheel from one, yes it will fit on a G. I have one on mine. Now, why anyone would want one of those hideous tires is beyond me. Sure they have that "look" but a bike handles like poo with them...Dee Durant '83 750es (Overly molested...) OP posted this thread 5 days ago, his first post, and hasn't been back. Hummm...
BTW, the L model bikes have a taller 5th gear ratio because otherwise the smaller rear wheel would make the engine spin faster when running in top gear (such as on the freeway).Ed
To measure is to know.

- The '80 850L had a 17" rear wheel, so it did not need the different ratio.
- The '80 1000L had a 16" rear wheel and the lower ratio, that was changed in the '81 1000L. (The difference in RPM was less than 200 at 70 MPH.)
- Starting in '82, all the Ls had the taller ratio.
On my next tire change, I plan to install a 16" wheel on my bike. The tire I have chosen (for longer life) happens to be almost as tall as the Shinko I have on there now, but is taller than the equivalent 16" Shinko.
