Just tried to send a PM, but I never found the send PM button. I clicked on the guy I wanted to send it to but I never found anything that mentioned PM...I know I've done it before, many times.

If you click on the member's name or picture it should take you to their user profile. Near the top of that page is a button that reads "Private Message".

Sending a PM ain't rocket surgery.

When you click on the username of the person you want to send a PM to, you get

I thought that should be correct, but mine does not show that, the line below the Activities..About.. Media is thick like a double line and only shows Filter to the far right side of the page. I clicked on Filter & the drop down showed nothing about Private Message nor PM

Then it’s possible the person you are trying to PM has messaging toggled off. Try clicking on my username or dpep’s and see if you don’t get something more like one of the screenshots I posted above.

Yours says "hide user customizations" & Activities is highlighted in purple. dpep's just shows the blank line, no private message, & Filter at the far right.

Ok. Do you have Private Messaging turned on in your account settings?

Well, I guess it has been on since 2005, I've sent plenty pf PM's. I haven't turned anything off nor on...Somebody somewhere may have turned it off, but not from this end...Nobody here but the wife & I..I just went & clicked on myself, found a big blue line that said EDIT SETTINGS, I clicked on that line but there was nothing that mentioned Private Message nor PM.

Click on your name at the top right. Then click " User Settings " ..... Then click on account .... You'll see it there .....

OK found it, private messages is marked, a white check mark in a blue box, also from all members is marked w/ blue dot. Also Use vB messenger is marked, I don't know what a vB messenger is or if I have one.

Ok, let’s back up. What device, operating system, and browser are you using to access the forum? Something just seems goofy.

I think it just means it’s the bulletin board format. dpep or Frank would know. Suffice to say, Mine is checked, so leave that alone.
