All I know is a desk top Windows 10 & there's something about chrome on here.

At the top of a forum page where your name and icon appear is there a button to the left of them that says "Messages?" If so click it and tell us what the options on the drop down menu are.

when I punch messages top line says sending/receiving PM's. When I punch this line it takes me directly to the PM rich sent a while ago. the next 5 lines under the sending/receiving PM's are past PM's I've received except the one rich sent me a while ago. To see his PM I've got to click notifications then go to message center. Still seeing nothing like what ya'lls pages are showing. Now going to follow this last thing rich put up here.

rich, my page doesn't go as far down as yours. When mine gets to other user customizations that's the end of the page. I punch save changes & it tells me my email address must match. it's showing my correct address , it asks me to enter it again then again says email address must match. I'm wondering if it still has my orig. email from yrs. ago still in there somewhere. only thing that changed was from...aol.com to...hotmail.com & that was several yrs. ago. I am making 2 changes to "show signatures" & 40 posts per page

That's a bug regarding email sigs. On mine it fills out the top box with my username instead of an email, which then throws up the error message.
I just fill in both boxes with my correct email and it works ok.

What I see, where it says email address straight out to right (not in anykind of box) "is my current" email address... under that is a box (line) with my user name... under that is another box (line) that says re-enter new email address... when I re-enter my current email address, as it's listed above my user name it tells me again emails must match... aggravating dang computers!!!!!

I just erased my user name & put my current email on all 3 lines, top with no box & lower lines actually have a box. current email on all 3 still email must match

Just found something new. I wanted to send salty a PM, though I haven't found send PM yet. When I clicked on his name, a page came up with his stuff on it. At the bottom of that page there is a place that says write something, I thought is this my send PM place. I put in the message, clicked POST. Now it shows I have sent him a "visitor message". Never heard of visitor message before, how is it different, or is it, from a "private message"

Visitor messages are not private they are messages that visitors can post to the member's profile page. They then appear on that page for other visitors to see. Completely different from private messages, I personally don't see a whole lot of use for them. but they may be helpful for some circumstances.

Just to confirm. When you were on Salty's page there was not button saying "Private Message" just above the block where you entered your message. Correct?

That is very weird. It sounds like you are getting the screen a member would get if they went to their own profile page. Can you go to your own message center?

If I click on "dpep" or "rphillips" almost the same page comes up, difference is on yours below your address, 1st line is subscriptions, 2nd is subscribers, 3rd is activities--about--media, 4th is a wider line with Filter at the far right. On mine 1st is subscriptions, 2nd is subscribers, then 3rd is a wide bold blue line with EDIT SETTINGS in white, then 4th is also a wide bold blue line with CUSTOMIZE YOUR STYLE in white, 5th says activities--subscribed (faded a little, not near as dark as other script)--about--& media, 6th below that is a double wide line with Filter at the far right, mine doesn't show the Private message & subscribe at left like what rich posted earlier. If I click on my message center a totally different page comes up.

You won't see it when you look on your own profile but if you click on someone else's you'll see the private message option. I am on the computer right now so I can't show you what it looks like from my phone but here's the section when looking at your profile
