Hmmm sideral?
We could all end up going to bed four minutes earlier each day, bars would not be happy.
There would be an extra day in the year so you have to get out of bed more often in a lifetime, more laundry, more commuting.
Thirty days credit would be shorter so lenders would be happy I guess.
Despite China being more than three thousand miles wide Mao decided they should run on a single time zone, officially at least.
I believe that in the Western parts they have local time and if you care to ask the time you get different answers from Han and Uyghur.
There are still a handful of houses around here that run on house time and have done since before the railways developed this strange concept of being on time

Hah, since I haven't spent much time around the Patchouli crowd lately there wasn't anyone to remind me of what day it was Sunday, therefore today will be Day two of year zero A.D. (After dpep) and it wouldn't be arbitrary! Well I guess the year zero thing could wait until after the U.N. ratifies it, anyone who knows that Al Gebra guy can tell you zero can be anything you want.
