We were in Nassau just after Ian headed into Florida. Although Cuba was hammered, the Bahamas were largely spared.

Earl's last post on the site was Sept 28th just a couple of hours before Ian Moved into central Florida dumping voluminous amounts of water. I fear he may have had to deal with a very high water situation around his home. If so we should not expect him to be posting or even responding to messages for quite some time. Don't ask me how I know.

I'm fine Don. Just doing some "house cleaning". Today is my first day of being able to take a day off. lol

Great news. What effects DID you get from Ian? It dumped a lot of water in central Florida.

timebombprod Ian (the member) is another Florida native who hasn’t checked in that I’m aware of. Anyone else in Ian’s (the hurricane) path that we should be concerned about?

What one would expect, lots of water and winds gusting to maybe 80 mph. Water was 11 feet in a few small local areas, but it was due to run off, not storm surge. I have a lot of oaks and the amount of broken branches and debris is incredible. I was really lucky. I doubt there is anything in Brooksville that would still be standing if we had 150 mph winds.and 15 feet of water.

Earl, it's great to hear you survived another one relatively intact.

It's all in the luck of the draw. One can never know where the
point of the spear" will land. Something of a pin the tail on the Earl proposition. lol I haven't been nailed since Andrew came through. heh knock knock. I think Don got hit worse than I ever did.

a bit late but im perfectly fine, we were gonna be hit pretty head on but the hurricane decided to stay more south, so what we got where i live was 70 degree weather and a nice breeze.
