That is a good comment, Brendan. The US of A Consitution, is most definitely at the forefront of this., but reality is that writing in this manner is far from new or unusual.
.
As I recall, at least some of the Mother Goose stories were written in similar manner, the subjects being political figures and/or policies of the times.
Gilbert and Sullivan were infamous for doing the same in their operettas, and they are still popular today.
A line from HMS Pinafore that was not well received. "I thought so little they rewarded me by making me the ruler of the Queen's Navy"
An aside: I wonder how many of our current members know anything at all about the mentioned "pocket boroughs".
.Bertrand Russell: 'Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education.'

Back to thread title topic: the subject of the court case is very serious indeed, but reading the submission written by The Onion got me laughing with the first paragraph, which prompted me to post the thread. so others would get a laugh out of it as well.
As part of a previous job I got to deal with legal issues for the company for years.
I have read many court claim submissions and while they were not intentional parody, some have been so funny that I wondered what a judge would say when first reading them.
