    $2.00 bill

My dad gave me a uncirculated 1976 $2 bill.

He didnt know the whole story behind it, but his grandparents got all the grandkids a two dollar bill In 1976, and was told it was uncirculated or something .and not to spend it

It has a postage stamp printed on it.

Some people have told me it's worth two bucks and the price of current day postage stamp, someone else told me it possibly could be worth more?

I wouldn't get rid if it, it's still in the card and envelope with letter written by my great grandmother dating sometime in 1976.

My grandmother had it put up In a family photo album...the bill is in excellent condition not a fold or wrinkle
    Kinda cool!

I've always wondered if there's a reason they still keep making them, I know of nobody anywhere that ever use them. Does anybody know of anybody, or a particular type of business, that may use them?

590 million printed wow. The hoarding of these would be frightening for the old balance sheet.

If you do your research, you may be able to find someplace where it will buy you a cup of coffee!

I just read The Treasury Dept. printed up to 204 million $2 bills in 2022... also read, and it makes sense, the $2 bill lasts waaay longer than other bills, just because they almost never get used so they don't get worn out. Makes sense.

Every once in a while I get a stack of $2 bills and go out and spend them.................just to be a bit less predictable.

Exactly. It's guaranteed to be worth $2.00.

But connection to your ancestors makes it priceless

The 3.63% inflation rate means $2 in 1976 is equivalent to $11.10 today. This inflation calculator uses the official US consumer price index published by the Department of Labor.

I have a $ 2 dollar bill in my wallet all the time, since it was given to me. It was minted in 2014, so it isn't old, and it's in great shape. People think it's fake. I had a fake $ 3 dollar bill, I wish I'd kept that.

The local scrapyard always pays out with $2 bills and half dollars when appropriate to cover the small parts. Just got a fresh 2017 $2 this afternoon.

Thanks Glen, that's very interesting. I'd figured there had to be somebody somewhere that uses them regularly, I just know of none.
