One for the wall, maybe, but I wouldn't want any in my billfold. Too much chance of misunderstanding. Like with those Susan B. Anthony dollar coins the subway was using in machines decades ago. I thought I was getting quarters instead of dollars.

    I gotta get out more.

Well wow the wiki article shows just a cancellation stamp this has an actual stamp with the post mark.
      plus period provenance. Cool beans.
I started rifling through change picking out rarities all circulated but graded to as hihh a quality I could find. I was 8 when I began. 17 when I stopped.
500 plus face value but any reasonable person learns there's no fortune to be made.
the PO sells double struck unc. Limited editions but they're as good an investment as royal doulton figurines.
if its marketed as collectible it isn't.
the fun for me was finding error coins from bad striking or damaged dies.
also tried for the oldest Bank of Canada 1954 notes I could find based on the signatures of the governors.

The first day of issue is pretty cool with the postmark. Thanks for the photo -- it really helps explain it.

I used to live next to a bank, and I'd go in every week and pick up a few $2 bills. I enjoy spending them.
But the strippers don't notice, so I recommend sticking to ones.

            Exactly. Precisely.

Trent - I can relate. My maternal grandfather used to give us silver dollars (the old, 'real silver' ones). Years later, I took some into a bank; $1.00 was their best offer and they were indifferent. However, a few others were very grateful and wanted as many as I could get.

Visitors to Monticello pick up a few $2 bills as a souvenirs, most of those bills remain out of circulation.
