. . . . . . . . . I have been rereading his Vietnam stories this week, and know that pic of Aug 1969 is shortly after those stories (in fact is one thing that can see in that pic that is directly mentioned).

Is a lot I could say about these stories... but for now let me recommend them to you all, especially to anyone who has meet Don. While reading his stories, it is almost like he is telling the story to a group sitting around in a circle (ala Brown County rally).

220th Aviation Company (Catkillers) unit roster of personnel, Catkillers, Unit Roster, Photos, KIA, MIA, Birddog, unit personnel, unit members, 3rd Marine Div, 108th Arty, 101st Airborne Div

Can find him here in the roster, and see official documents (award of metals) that collaborate some of his stories.

    . . . . . . .
I mean this to honor Don.

Not to argue the VietNam war. Lets not do that. (or will need to delete the post)

Various ones of us know Don from Rallys, others of us know him maybe only from his activities on/with the forum.

He does well at telling stories (and apparently these are true).
Is amazing and interesting what he did, what situation he was in.

I will not try to describe it at all.

Are 13 stories (called chapters). Each maybe 3 - 4 pages long, dont take too long to read. Start with the first one.

Don sent me those links a while back and I had been reading and enjoying them. Think I got about halfway through the chapters and life got in the way, something happened with the device I had been reading on, lost the page. Now I will pick up where I left off. Thanks for posting this, Dave. Much appreciated. And thanks to Don dpep and all who served.

My brother did 2 tours of duty joining the USMC in Vietnam, he was a Lance Corporal. He also was a tunnel rat. That's were they figure he got so much Agent Orange in him. The cancer was inherited by my nieces. He is quite schizophrenic now, almost impossible to speak with. The Lymph Node Cancer is back, he has so few left, they have removed so many, it's just a matter of time. They thought he was killed during TET and sent a marine in Dress Blues giving my mother the notification of his death by accident. I'll never forget that day. A day later another one comes by and said. "We're sorry, he's not dead", poor choice of words, but I don't envy that guys job. Watching my older brother, a virile young man fall apart, well I can't read these stories, but am happy someone is posting these stuff, these guys are being forgotten, just like the Korean Vets.

War... what is it good for? Sorry to read about your brother!

I'm young enough that all I know about Vietnam comes from Movies pretty much.... To get a 1st hand perspective (well written at that) is pretty cool
