I used to live a few miles south of Lake Ontario. He got a lot of play on local radio. If You Could Read My Mind and Edmund Fitzgerald.

I will think of Mr. Lightfoot every time I drink one of these. If you like dark beer, this is quite good.

I have to take a tiny teeny bit of exception with your statement. He was one of the world's best singer/songwriters ever. He also sang heart break from a man's perspective. Not just dumping a girl, but the disappointment of betrayal by someone you tried so hard to love, portraying the depth of which we guys feel. This depth of feeling helped me understand women, and I did not put them on a pedestal anymore (my bad), and found a partner for life. I am older and remember him from when I was just a kid, his passing, well, he was great, and the world is less for his passing, but greater because of his life. IMHO. Canada's son, one of the world's best. He has left the world with beautiful music that will be around as long as man is.

The ship itself obviously inspired that beer, which is one of my favorite Cleveland brews. I try to get back to Ohio every year, as I still have a sister there.

Lightfoot's music has permeated all phases of my life, from early childhood, sitting with my older siblings as they listened to his songs to long solo motorcycle trips as pretty much someone at the end of middle age. So many deep, meaningful songs, so much soul in them.
I was going to say to that same thing, but you did it too well for me to chance ruining your thought. Always been a fan of him.
