My wife got her dream car yesterday!

You know what they say...happy wife happy life....

She has been looking for a Fiat 500 for years. What she has found was either bad condition or way to expensive.
Then this showed up on facebook market place yesterday. We canceled our work plans for the day and jumped on to my BMW and took the ferry to the mainland.
1968 Fiat 500 with a 600cc engine. Very original condition and owned by a 70 year old mechanic...he imported it from Italy over 20 years ago.
What a hoot! Smiles and thumbs up wherever she goes....kids last night on the ferry were even yelling "Luigi"!!! Lol

That is a cool car, way cooler than the current Fiat 500. :-)
      sigpic2002 KLR650 Ugly but fun!
2001 KLR650 too pretty to get dirty

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

Very nice! 34k miles or kilometers on the clock?

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Has it got a name yet?
The Lady has impeccable taste btw.
Mary is very taken by the colours of the body and seats but the key fob has to go - it clashes

                Nice shape original paint.
I guess im getting old as things i loved about cars set off alarms.
But i bet its light and still a superb city car

i think spain produced a variant.
It figures in graham greene's monsignior quixote as the main character's rocinante.

That is a very cool, quirky little car. I simply had to know what the floor levers behind the shifter were for. This article explains is. Neat. Bet its a hoot to drive.
As soon as its engine size was increased to 499cc and power up 5hp to 18hp the post war world appeared to fall in love with the Fiat 500, forever.

                  Here's a short video w/in the article:

Cool car. I have kept my eyes open for something similar for years. When I lived in Spain as a kid we had a very similar car manufactued by " Seat ", pronounced say-yot, I believe.

The only difference I can recall between this Fiat and the Seat is the Seat had suicide doors.

I think we have to call it Luigi....with kids yelling out the name from the movie "Cars" how can we deny that? Lol And yes the key chain tag has got to go.

Cool...apparently the first Fiat's had suicide doors in the late 50s when they came out.
