It's a fiasco even without the rain! Besides there's some cool gatherings of that same crowd, albeit on a smaller scale, all over the country.

I've seen a lot of people posting clips about how everybody came together and there was a lot of sharing going on. It's not a fiasco. Maybe it's just now for you. Where else can you make a 3 story house into a vehicle and drive it in the desert?

The media did the portraying. I didn't hear one person at the event complain. They go out there well stocked, and left within a day the even was scheduled to end. I didn't hear anyone complaining, but a lot of people helping other people out. I bet next year, you will see people go there with some hovercraft, and other vehicles not affected by mud.

I have relatives who live this lifestyle. IIRC, the Burning Man is thousands of people setting up villages in the desert. The premise is to create something for others without expectations for gifting it to them. So, I guess people do whatever they feel is right for them regarding your creation. I have seen pictures over the years, pretty amazing what is created out there.

Crazy, unique and sometimes no clothes at all. So, maybe consider a Woodstock with far more creative people in attendance?

And then, there is supposed to be no trace that the event took place when it is over.........not sure if that part works, I have my doubts.

Maybe the remnants are how they find the spot again. I've seen pictures from afterwards, it looks pretty cleaned up. It may be a yearly deal as to the mess left behind. I don't do large groups of people personally. Never have, never will, well, except for the Grateful Dead Concert at Engliishtown, N.J. for 3 days, and a lot of YES concerts, and Moody Blues, Frank Zappa, and some beaches, England, Belgium and Canada, the Eastern half, and a few more, but that's it.

All I need is a compass, a straight edge, mechanical pencil, ultra fine sharpie, an "art pad" from the dollar store and an eraser.

As to nudity, it's not the things you'll see that'll be burned into your eyeballs, it's the things you can't UNSEE that'll stick with you!

Ya, although I have never been, I have always suspected that it is a " if you want to find it, it's there " type of event.

They were talking about it down at the store, most thought it was like a modern day "Woodstock" I'm thinking woodstock was largly the music, I don't know but thinking music wasn't a big part of the Burning man.... News, this morning, did say Kid Rock was there.

But the big story will be about whether or not he was drinking Bud Light.
