    Earthquake!

Just experienced my first ever quake 1 hour ago! Centered in New Jersey, relatively shallow, 4.8, lasted 5-7 seconds.

Turns out it was longer. It built up the first few seconds, then stayed at maximum for at least 10 seconds. At least on my couch.

My first. Maybe I'll get lucky and see my first eclipse in a few days.

My Wife is chaperoning a school fieldtrip to Philly. She texted me a bit a ago and asked If we felt the earthquake (in central PA), I didn't know anything about it. Haven't talked to her yet to see what they actually felt. Would be an exciting trip for our middle and high school band kids who went to the city to see a symphony,

Ive experienced earthquake twice, both times really minor ones....some people didn't even notice it.

First time in illinois, was in my garage putting brake pads on old car...I felt it and immediately thought semi truck flying down the street hitting bumps,
but then realized no truck and no bumps..lol

Looks at container that had liquid in it and it was sloshing around.

Second time, In very small town that had the areas local radio station..thought I would call and ask if anyone reported or heard anything about earthquake...

Guy answered and just said excitedly "EARTHQUAKE " and hung up...lol

                Epicenter in New Jersey.....

                ANd it makes national news.

In southern California the only concern is if it splashed enough out the pool to need refilling.

I was in Weehawken NJ on the roof of a 5 story building. I did feel some odd vibrations briefly but I thought it was from the many HVAC machines up there. If no one mentioned an earthquake I'd have never known.

I recall my first quake. It woke 17 yr old me very early on a Saturday.
I recall waking, wondering then rolling over and going back to sleep.

later in the afternoon I was sat at the kitchen table and an aftershock rose slowly and rattled doors, dishes and me.

A spooky odd feeling of utter powerlessness.

The loonies are producing end times memes though. Its good to keep em busy.
