Looks like there's a good chance that much of the US will get a chance to see the Northern Lights tonight. So far there have been six coronal mass elections sending plasma in our direction triggering the first solar storm warning issued since the mid 2000's. Possibilities of power and communication disruptions are coming along with it so be sure to stock up on toilet paper!

Several really good pictures have been posted here tonight (West Kentucky). I understand the light show is visible as far South as Alabama and Texas tonight.sigpic2002 KLR650 Ugly but fun!

A buddy of mine was able to see them from his front yard in Detroit! We had a pretty solid deck of low clouds here just east of Indianapolis, I gave up at about 11.1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)

20240510_224531.jpgThe phone camera really shows the colors. I saw the Aurora back in the 60s. It was really strong then . Might have been what caused the big NE black out.
