Walking into harbor freight the parking lot was covered, hard to take a step and not step on one...tree trunk covered....

Surprisingly we have none here so far. They are all around us.

Apparently, there are about a dozen different types of cicadas, each on their own time schedule, and located in different regions of the country. What's special about this year, is that two different types are both emerging concurrently. That doesn't often happen...

They are everywhere in my area, they're loud in the woods across the rd. & up on the hill behind us. But right here at my house & yard there's very few. Outside mowing, washing autos, sitting in the shade, may see 2 or 3 a day. No clue why as most around here are very aggravated with them & we've hardly noticed at all. I've noticed within the past couple of days the noise isn't as loud, they must be leaving. I'm fix'in to eat a bite of dinner and go out & mow again, may get swarmed today but the last few times, no bother at all.

For those that live close to a lake and fish - topwater... Table Rock this time of year was always a blast... Since I live in Florida, I'm not bothered by them.

I just noticed the same thing in my yard, well whole neighborhood for that matter.

I was at a huge hog unit earlier, no trees, no grass, just massive gravel lot with big metal building surrounded by some large metal feed bins.....cicadas all over the place ? Why they chose to be there instead of half miles in any direction and be in wooded area ?

Same here. Maybe the outdoor cats are getting fat. Or maybe they're being drowned out by the fireworks. Happy 4th of July! (We start early. Right after dinner...or is it supper?).

A little over 2 hrs. to mow earlier today, right after I ate dinner, one cicada tried to land on the side of my head, also saw 2 of their shells stuck on the back wall of the garage. Now fix'in to have a bite of supper.

Here's my Cicada story.
I was out riding southeast Ohio. I ran into a bunch of them fellows...
I get home that evening. As I'm undressing to take a shower.
One of those buggers was clinging to my leg and looking up at me!
I about died! Somehow he climbed up my leg and I didn't even know it!!!

The wife of a friend of mine works for a heart doctor/clinic and she gives test to people and she said the clinics building is red bricks and covered with cicadas....said several people came in with one or two cicadas on them....few made it to testing/exam rooms..lol
