    Anyone need rain?

Maybe we can find a means to shift some from here.

I have a straight-sided pail in the yard that I had used yesterday, so I know it was empty.

When the downpour quit I measured the depth of water in it: : four and a half inches!....115 MILLIimetres!!

    EDIT:

Sorry....I said cm instead of mm.......I really meant millimetres.....
.115 centimetres would be getting close to four feet.

Yes, Yes, Please, Please, we need it baaaad, corn is drying up just as tassels are appearing, soybeans trying to come up with no moisture, walking across Tyard sounds like walking on corn flakes, little help in sight. 20% chance today, 60% chance tomorrow, 40% chance Thursday, just hoping for something..

Rained almost every day for the past two weeks. Don't need any.

112F, is that temp or heat index? Around here, there' usually a pretty big difference. Thinking if that's temp heat index should be near 120.

I don't know for certain. Measured temp rising from the asphalt was 140F
You ever put the kick stand down, walk away from the bike and then turn around, only to run back and grab it before the stand sinks into the pavement and the bike falls over?

I once did some engine repair work on the diesels in a yacht engine room. The actual engine room temperature was 144F. Ten minutes at a time was my max. I was a lot younger then. lol

Those drivers with full fire suits, full helmet W/visor, gloves, no windows to roll down, and a 1" vent hose attached to the helmet, not an A/C hose a vent hose, while driving 190 + mph for 3+ hrs...

I've been sticking around NW Pennsylvania the last week or so, it's been humid but not much above the upper 80's temp wise. Had made the trip over to Allentown July 4th weekend and was extended invites by several people to stick around on the east coast awhile, glad I didn't take them! They've had heat advisories and warnings every day since.

Earl, for what it's worth, at least Florida oranges will be worth eating this year. With last year's drought they aren't good for much other than providing a good dose of fiber

If you find yourself passing through Central PA again, give me a holler. You can pitch your tent in my yard. Heck, I might even invite you into the house.

I had you in mind as I looked over the map. When I was at that festival near Allentown I developed some post nasal drip which turned into a blazing 103+ temperature that lasted until the following Wednesday morning. Baled out of the festival early and grabbed a campsite up near I-80 so as to not get anyone else there sick. Looked over the long term forecast maps and saw what was coming and knowing the following day was going to be relatively cool I bolted back to this area and besides, I'd met a VERY cool young (42 yr old) lady in this area which motivated my return.
