Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

Major fail for NY. Walk off grand slam by the left coasters.

Fun game to watch and it doesn't get any more dramatic than a grand slam with 2 out in the bottom of the 10th ......

I was at Shea Stadium in the 1980's when the Mets were down in the bottom of the ninth. Daryl Strawberry struck out and then Rusty Staub came to bat. A big, heavy man, probably 10-15 years older than most of the players, he hadn't even been in the game up to that point.

He was in the game for only one pitch, and he homered and won it for the Mets. I was sitting right up against the dugout, and it was very impressive to see. Closest I'll get to a Babe Ruth moment.

Gerrit Cole signed a 9 year , $324,000,000 contract with an average annual salary of $36,000,000.

My friend worked with his father here in Orange County CA for many years in the medical industry. He told me this morning that dad is super laid back and never mentioned his son's accomplishments, just focused on work. Cole and Freddie Freeman both OC boys. Freeman played at my alma mater, Cal State Fullerton, one of the best baseball programs in the country.

Great game tonight, another 2 out, bases loaded all-or-nothing scenario - Well, not 'all' because it was top of 9th not bottom, but still....Go Doyers! (only Angelenos will get that).

Always wondered how those players could work so cheap. Those bus tickets having to roam all across the country every few days and eating out all the time will take a chunk of that salary... Hoping they don't struggle too bad.
