My experience, not sure if it was a coincidence but three days after everything was fine.

Might have been that way regardless?

Or the three jabs in the bottom of my foot made me forget about it...lol

Six am and just woke up .....Pain is particularly bad at this time of the day before movement starts. It is this time of the day I seriously consider going down to Hasting St. and buying enough Fentanyl to kill a moose ...... But I know it will improve a bit as the day progresses. Got the Cortizone prescription so plan on making a doctor's appointment this morning. Likely appointment Monday or Tuesday ...... Also talked to the pharmacist about anaesthetics. Apparently three options ..... The kind you rub on over the counter. The kind you rub on prescription . And an internal injection . She said it is up to the doctor which if any to use ...... So I guess I'll find out that part when I go to my appointment .....

If the pain killer is optional go for the injection. I had both hips done once and the Dr. mixed the cortisone with lidocaine iirc. some caine.................not Michael..............
One side was flaring up and I waited the required 15 mins in case of a reaction. Amazing instant results. Like a miracle. Then the pain killer wore off over night and I could barely stand the extra pain. I did though having no choice. a day or two and all was well.

Thanks for your explanation Cipher ..... I think waking up to increased pain would be extremely discouraging . But your explanation that it still worked and will improve over the next few days should make it a little more bearable ......

Aw No, that's 2 wks... Surely your doc has another doc seeing his patients while he's away. Go get it from him then tell your doc when he returns. It's an injection, not brain surgery.... Surely come up with something.

Youd do well to have a physiotherapist give you a once over. I injured my rotator cuff by sanding a guitar clean of its polyurethane finish. Never sand polyurethane its a fools game.
The pain is incredible in a shoulder its a complex mechanism that can tighten up upon itself. Pain to the point of tears, immobility and potentially shattering my lifelong dream of flying under my own power.

My physiotherapist has me doing a battery of easy light movements that loosen the shoulders and neck.
do this after the cortisone kicks in fully and works its magic. Cause when they say relax and breathe you cant when in sever pain.

I actually was sure it must be an injury due to the amount of intense pain I was experiencing. As you describe " to the point of tears " ....... But x-rays revealed it was arthritis ..... Having said that my doctor did send me a bunch of exercises to do .... Bur the first thing on the agenda is getting this damn shot.......

Got up at six thirty am this morning . The worst time of day for pain. After initial scream of pain things have settled down faster than usual . Usually takes several hours of movement before the pain subsides a bit to tolerable levels ..... Still in a lot of pain but I think it is a bit better today .....Didn't hear back from the receptionist yesterday so I guess I'll call again Monday . I'll be a little clearer and request the doctor that is covering for mine. I would really like to see that x-ray report ......
