I was looking at this guy's restoration of an ATC 90, he does nice work. This is a condensed version of the job. He did a nice job on a VFR 400 as well. He uses Deox-C rust remover and it sure looks like it works extremely well. There's a comparison with Evapo-Rust a guy did on YouTube and the Deox-C blows it away. It's a powder you add to water. Anyone use? I don't think it's used much in the US but it's available on eBay.

ATC 110 joined the family
My son got a pretty nice Honda ATC 110 for dirt cheap, it runs but needs a little TLC. He has a friend who has a house in the high desert and there's room to roam, lots of sand. He's just doing it for a laugh.

When did the ATV industry stop making 3-wheel machines and why? I knew a guy who would do weekend hair scrambles and he always had a story about someone's high side get off,
Keep us posted on the resto. Looks cool !82 1100 EZ (red)

I think 86 or 87 was the last year. I had an 86 250r back in the late 90s. It was an awesome machine.sigpic

Owned 2. an used 80somthing Yamaha Tri-moto 200. No rear suspension was the worst. But it still was a lot of fun. Sold that at about age 15, bought a brand new 1986 Honda 200X. Is was a blast. Worst injuries: Dislocated left wrist, and torn right ACL (or at least the start of the tear). But we had so much fun on these. All my buddies had quads. We'd race on the frozen ponds in the winter. Carry kegs of, um Birch Beer, into the woods for weekend outings. Good Times.Rich

Here is the $300 death machine. The seller said his friend is an upholsterer and did the seat. It is perfect, probably the best bike seat I've ever been on. It's too loud and doesn't idle but we'll take care of that.

ATC pricing has definitely gotten crazy. I sold my 250r to my brother for $500 back in the day. I saw a restored one for sale last week for 8k....

The ATC was running terribly, would start and run only on choke and it was really blackening the plug and making a stink, so off came the $20 Chinese carb. The idle jet was completely clogged, so I cleaned it out, and now it idles and runs really well, with no smoke. I think it was just varnish because the tank is clean inside, but I put some filters on that I had on hand. I did a compression check and got 140. That is at the service limit but higher than I expected. My old tester seems to read low so I think it's a healthy little thing, shifts and goes just fine. It only needs the brake cable lubed and some new shoes I suspect. Little Hondas and similar are so fun and easy to work on.Tom

Glad to hear a quick easy fix. No clue how familiar you are with those things but simple and VERY important, if you think it's turning over don't put your foot down to catch it.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw.
