This was clearly a post designed to stir the pot. The Vortex crowd is getting bored listening to themselves whine all day.

No fired federal worker is coming to the GSR to find out where to get help....what an F'n joke.

Captain, you can start your outfit search, as you will certainly be called on stage to accept the " Hypocrite of the Year Award " Congratulations.

    dpep......you fell for it.

The "IGNORE" feature works folks! Just sayin!

Seems to me that one person almost always posting, "non-motorcycle" related content, is causing a lot of discontent. Just ignore and go on with your day!

When I wrote the words Anyone who wanted help could ask for it there was another part to that sentence AND/OR get help.

The implication behind those words was....and continues to be today....that help could be found without asking.

In fact, in 1998, that was my own experience as I "spoke" to no one initially, but read as much as I could. seeking information as it was laid out on the screen.

Today's GSR reality does not differ from that bare-bones beginning.. We became what we were actually proud to think of as a "family"......where we helped each other regarding bikes and, very often, with our personal lives.

In my own case there was a time I was VERY low and reached out to GSR for help. Simon Waters and Earlfor stood up and got me through my personal crisis.

When my daughter Tam was being physically beaten in Nova Scotia and urgently needed help to escape her violent partner she did not ask for help from GSR, she merely voiced her plight and GSR members rushed to help. Some of them literally took her into their homes and helped her.

When a female member openly asked for help with a love life that had collapsed and left her broken I spent weeks speaking with her, as did Earl and Simon with me. . The result: Rocky and Scotty got together again and stayed together until Scotty died.

Today's GSR is definitely much larger and decidedly more sophisticated in its presentation, but the real reason people come to GSR, according to its own numbers, is to seek information...AKA HELP

It is logical that people coming to this site are seeking something, and, logic insists the reason is that they are seeking help....but given the highly disproportionate number of visitors vis-a-vis members, it is very clear that most people who come to GSR never ask for anything..

They may be seeking help on many things, but they will not be asking for it.

The numbers, I believe, speak for themselves.

          .
The numbers below were copied as of 0800/8AM today:

There are currently 1241 users online. 11 members and 1230 guests.
Most users ever online was 42,595 at 11:01 PM on 05-24-2024.

            2024 layoffs...

            Tesla - 14,000
            UPS - 12,000
            SAP - 8,000
            Dell - 6,000
            Cisco - 4,250
            Etc.....

We don't need a thread, pretending the GSR is some public health service for people that lost their job. The government is also a business, one that's heavily in debt, and layoffs are part of that.

You’re a smart guy, Ron and so are other members.

If you want to partition for a “ Please Help “ category, that would be admirable.

Bringing a politically driven topic outside of the Vortex will not aid in the longevity of this site.

I have been a staunch supporter of this site for many years, helping and donating in many ways to include behind the scenes. I am
reducing my support, as I do not like things that I see, this is one of those things.

With that said, I am not buying your written explanation, especially given your recent involvement in the Vortex, which should remain in there.

Just curious why you didn't, as far as I know, mention one government entity. Be interesting to see those numbers as that seems to be the topic at hand.

I was wondering where " admitted Trump voter who supports the invasion of other countries " Vmass has been ..... I figured with the amount of sh!t his orange haired hero was causing around the world it was just a matter of time before he showed up with his tail between his legs ... And he's right on schedule ......

                  { I would also note that Vmass hasn't familiarized himself with the thread to know from whom it originated }
