If ya let 'em these kids will sit around watching the youtubes all day so I try to get them outside. So we went to the park and did quite a bit of walking. Grandpa's too cheap to pay to get in so we go around to the free side and take the trails across the river to where the paying customers hang out. I promised ice cream treats to everyone that didn't fall over a cliff. Here we are with the most expensive ice cream in the world.



Good walk, probably a couple miles.

Same here. And they are annoyed that we dont have all the streaming services they expect.

Had the 6yo and 3 1/2yo here for a day and half.

Played in the house, played in yard, in driveway, and up and down the bike path.

And took them out for an "adventure", as I call it.
Went out for walk on boardwalk and pier. Got out there

The 3 1/2yo is saying there is a big boat... I see that girls booty-butt... lighthouse doesnt look like a house .....
6yo is saying this is a lot of waking, ....there is nothing fun here, ....how do we get back off of here, ....you said we were going to a playground... oh, Papa, not another picture.

And we did make it to a playground

Yah, playground probably more appropiate. But glad we did both.

On the way home, we were talking. I said "years from now, ... .... .... when you are a teenager, maybe you will remember going out on the pier with your ol' Papa, and we will have these pictures."
6yo, seemed to look contemplative, and said "Papa, when I am a teenager, maybe I will call you GrandFather."
I dont know if she was just being silly, or if she actaully meant something by that, but I was impressed that she was thinking something about the concept of passing of the years.

The crazy little grand kid has an infatuation with time pieces. He has at least ten of them hanging on his bedroom wall. Many of them make sounds of some sort every hour. Birds, fish, tractors...
I found this one to add to his collection. His parents are gonna love it.
