Hmmm.. Not much historic stuff in my town except maybe some really old trees out in the woods somewhere. So I'll try the nearby railroad bridge over the Genesee River. Actually this bridge is very new, recently replacing the very old trestle that was built in the mid 1800's. So technically I got nothin. Oh well, I probably won't be going out for a ride any time soon cuz it's about 10 degrees F and we're supposed to get a big snowstorm tonite and tomorrow. But it's a nice picture right?

Most of downtown here in our little town has buildings from the late 1800s, the other part is early 1900s.

This hundred year old hotel is in Mountainair, NM. The blacksmith that owned the place rebuilt it in the 1920's when a fire destroyed the original wooden structure. Being a blacksmith and talented mason, he made the new structure out of concrete and steel.

There's a pretty colorful history here including a gunfight between "Pop" Shaffer's wife and his mistress.

A little about the place here.
There’s nothing quite like a night in an old hotel. Last year we stopped by the St. James Hotel up in Cimarron and now we’ll check out t...

Obviously in the deep southwest, where the swastika was an ancient symbol of good luck (as it was in Tibet, Bhutan, etc.).

Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane) used to wear one, I think he did so at Woodstock.

Interesting article on the use of the swastika around the world in the early 20th century.
adopted the symbol in the 1920s, it continued in use in Western countries with its original meaning until the Nazi association became dominant in the 1930s. The term swastika is first attested in English in 1871, and first refers to the Nazi…

swastika as a Native American symbol
Because this was a popular symbol with the Navajo people, the Arizona Department of Transportation marked its state highways with signs featuring a right-facing swastika superimposed on an arrowhead. In 1942, after the United States entered World War Two, the department replaced the signs.

Hey, that is the place that has the original big old manaul elevator (that we have seen pictures of).

Hey, my town also has an old multistory brick manufacturing building downtown from early 1900s (Story & Clark piano factory) that is now a big brewery/coffeeshop and office spaces.

Not real old as far as heritage buildings can be. Far North Queensland historical cane barracks that housed Cane cutters when Cane was harvested by hand. Most are derelict these days but have seen a couple converted to dwellings. They had 4 bedrooms a open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge separate laundry with toilet and shower and a rainwater tank.
