Theme: "Go for a ride and........."

Sometimes we go for a ride, just to go for a ride.
SOmetimes we go for a ride that is part of a longer trip or adventure.
Sometimes we go for a ride to go somewhere and have another activity/adventure/hobby......

Go for a ride and find the marker they put up where the plane crashed in 1970, killing 75 Marshall University football players and coaches and supporters.

The sign says: On Nov. 14, 1970, 75 people died in the worst sports related air tragedy in U.S. history when a Southern Airways DC-9 crashed into the hillside nearby. The victims included 36 Marshall University football players, 9 coaches and administrators, 25 fans and air crew of 5. No one survived this horrific disaster

Boy, a sign like that can suck the air right out of the room. Dial back the mood of an otherwise giddy motosickle ride.

Or, just make you appreciate your own good luck all the more. You just gotta be a little careful. There but for the grace...

I want to get this one in today, Feb 3rd. I just started another thread on what happened 65 years ago today.

On the right under the hi-vis jacket is my scooter. On the left the two white posts mark the trailhead for the long walk between two cornfields to the actual crash site. Here is a closer shot of the latter.

This was a side trip to indulge my interest in music history that I took while on a long trip to Sturgis and back.

Hoping an optical seclusion, but, to me, it looks like your rear wheel removed and leaning against your bike?

The Tiger Explorer has a shaft drive/single-sided swingarm. The wide angle also adds to the illusion, distorting objects more the closer they get to the edge of the frame.

No need to phret, under his arm is what appears to be one of them tiny tool kits that used to come with motorcycles.

“Once a Boy Scout……”. “Be Prepared”. I like to take lunch with me. And coffee. And a jump pack. And a tire repair kit. And assorted tools. There’s room for a kitchen sink, but I thought that would be overdoing it for just a 3 hour tour.

A lot of yakking from guys that never, or hardly ever post pics in the game.

Went for a ride about 30 miles away to a small independent motorcycle shop.

Maybe some day I'll get rid of my little flip phone and grow into the sending picture stuff. If I did, I'd probably enjoy it.

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.
