I suppose this could be a "went for ride" pic, but folks have seen enough pier pics there, well, maybe here too.....

My evening-sunset ride got diverted this evening, which is okay. Went bye the beach after sunset. On a nice warm day was lot of cars there, so didnt have much choice of a place to park, but, Tried this sort of shot.

Not having tripod along (need to do something about that), I went across to campsite on other side of roadway to use the powerpost as a camera prop, and still needed to go to higher ISO, zoom in (and further limit my framing options).

Rode along the East shore of Kentucky Lake through Tennessee Ridge, Erin, Cumberland City, Clarksville and Dover Tennessee before heading back into Kentucky.

Dave, I had a similar experience when doing my picture of the week game this week. I hadn't realized how dependent I've become on using the tripod when using lower ISO settings.

I'm becoming more dependent on glasses as well, particularly when using manual focus.

On the bike I quite often pack one of those C-clamp mounts with a ball mount head. There's usually something to attach it to. Even the windscreen with rag so it doesn't get scratched.

Proud Dad/Coach moment tonight. My high school sophomore played his first HS lacrosse game tonight, after being sidelined the last 2 weeks with a concussion suffered during practice. And he scored 2 goals! And he paid for it. See last pic. It's a rough sport, especially for the kids who are skilled at carrying the ball and shooting. Didn't matter to me who won (we didn't), as I had coached every kid on the opposing team and most of the kids on ours from the ages of 7 or 8 through 8th grade in our regional youth league. I decided after my second kid was done with youth lax, I'd quit. I really have no desire to coach HS. We'll see what happens next year when our coach who's kid is a senior, leaves. Anyway, here's some shots from tonight's game.

Second of Noah's 2 goals. See the ball between the goalie's feet. I was also video taping (do they still call it that?) for the team, so didn't get too many shots w/ my camera:

playing w/ filters a little bit:

Congrats on your sons accomplishments, Rich.
Played a lot of box lacrosse decades ago but never field. Both are great sports.

                                Rich, Hey, sports photography.
Would you be a past LAX player yourself? Or a involved Dad that got recruited to be a youth coach with no experience?
