Not great, but interesting to me. I hadn't even planned on taking the camera out of the bag. I really just wanted to sit, but..... photography. I ended up laying on the ground shooting upwards using the ground to steady the camera. Lots of fuzzy images were deleted. I also cropped out a power line pole. The lines are a cross between interesting visual flow and distraction.

If I catch a nap today, I may bicycle around town tonight with the camera.... The moon is coming around.

Took this while on an early morning ride today. It is my Grandmother's old farm house, the deck and Red metal roof are not original to the house but the Antenna tower and Chimney are. I ate many home cooked Sunday meals in that small kitchen. :-)

It's not the greatest but I couldn't set the focus right so this is all I could do even with the post-processing crop. I think I'll rent a macro lens and see what happens during the week I'll have it - if I get the opportunity again that is.

I was just very impressed this little guy sat there as long as he did letting me try to get a few pictures of him (most turned out pretty blah) without flying away. He was definitely a lot more patient than a caterpillar I tried to capture on the next stem over

Scott, that must have been a tought one, and I tip my hat to you guys playing with the macro stuff. Soft focus aside, I like how you brought the stem in and up from the bottom corner. That and the position of the insect gives it all a nice upward movement.

Nice, and cool that it's still standing. It harkens back to a time before the masses "needed" a giant house, and a simple home was sufficient.

Well I ended up on the cycle last night. Great ride and a couple of decent shots.
I'm still trying to work out the ride / photo exploration thing. It was hot last night and walking around in moto gear was NOT in the plans. I had a destination in mind, but remembered a nice potential spot that I worked near last year so I went there instead. It was a boardwalk area with a small boat club and a pavilion. It was an affluent spot, and mostly empty. I parked the bike next to a bench, stripped off my moto gear, plopped it down on the bench and walked around in a t shirt, shorts.... and socks for about an hour. Minimal worries about thieves in that area. I'm thinking about travelling with my saddlebags to stow my gear in there for a semblance of security in other spots- out of sight, out of mind security.

I love the side lighting. Focus is a bit soft further back on the boat.

Taken from the second story on the open pavilion. I waited a bit for the streak to cross the moon. Lots of out of focus images happed here...

Thanks Scott. When I took my initial ride down the road next to the boardwalk to check it out, that grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it.

Shadows are awesome. One of my favorite lighting situations at night is that spot where artificial light gives way to shadow or darkness. Still haven't been able to capture any great pics of this, but I see it often.

Very well done Glen. Wonderfully exposed night sky. The composition you chose with the foreground and silhouette gives it a great sense of place and depth.

Thanks Sandy. All credit for the exposure goes to the camera - it was in full auto mode. I only placed it in a good spot....
The placement of my son worked well in this one. I took another with more of a side view of the bicycle and it was a very static shot not having the diagonal line of the bike coming in.
