Yes great thread and thanks very much for starting it. I don't comment on the fabulous photos posted here as much as I should but the overall quality of photos here from everyone is absolutely stunning.

Thanks Glen. I've had a lot of fun over the years and my many trips down there. First trip was back in about 1973. This a cute one from 2005.

The pics just posted are a consolation prize, and just filler while I was waiting for the moon. I was all set and waiting when a distant voice yelled "park's closed, if you dont move your cars, the gates will be locked and you'll be stuck until morning".
I moved the car and tried to find..... somewhere without luck. As I searched, a beautiful bright moon popped out from the clouds and made a wide perfect reflection on the lake. Then it disappeared into thick clouds for the night. I missed the moment.

I should have rode the cycle. I could have went around the gate as I have done many times in the past.

Just looked at this thread a couple of days back. I have a random photo it's one I took a about three years back.
I was standing on the back deck of a ship in the Kara Sea way up North just happened to have a camera in my hand and saw these flashes on the horizon. I knew that were no other vessels around that far North and by the time I had made it to the side of the ship realised what I was seeing the best of it was over but still snapped a couple of shots off. I've never seen a 'Green flash' only heard about them in a conversation about twenty years before.

Just to say that there are some amazing and stunning photos in this thread. What a good idea it is. Thanks to Marvinsc for coming up with it

Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.

After the rain came thru. Capturing lightning over the water the beach was the plan but.... the lightning stopped and the rain didn't. Drove around and ended up here again. A bit of homework as well. When they do the 9/11 memorial lights next week, I want to try to get some pics. Found a backup location as well.
