I've had the shots several times. Sometimes you don't feel the needle. Other times the procedure hurts. It's worth it bottom line, because of reduction of pain.

My mum gets them in both knees every 3 or 4 months as a measure to hold her over till they replace them with bionic ones. She's done the shots 3 or 4 years now, says they work pretty good.

Dr. said bursitis, steroid shot will help for a little while but probably won't last long. That's been a few yrs. & so far it hasn't came back. Thank goodness. No doubt what works for some don't work for others.
Had the same thing, right shoulder about 10 years ago. Ended up getting the steroid shot, which resulted in a concussion, lol.

A minute or two after the shot, I was beginning to feel kind of strange. I had just put my shirt on and was at the window where you make the payment then the next thing in know, I wake up on an examination room table surrounded by two nurses and a different doctor. I didn't know where the hell I was, who these people were, or know the answers any of their questions (i.e. Are you married? What is wife's phone number? What is password to your phone?) They said while at the window, I suddenly just fell over backwards and smacked my head on the concrete floor. Was out for several minutes. Worst part, was the "amnesia" part of it.....it probably took about 15 minutes or so after coming to, before I could remember most things. It was like my brain was a snow globe that someone had shaken, and all the "memory bits" had to slowly settle back into place.

Don't really know how well or how fast the shot helped. The headache was so bad for the next week and a half that I didn't even think about my shoulder. But when that subsided, my shoulder was pretty much pain free, just needed physical therapy to get the range of motion back.

The doctors explanation was that I just happened to have a bad reaction to the steroids which caused my blood vessels to restrict, cutting off circulation and causing me to pass out. He advised against the initially recommended follow-up shot

Hey frosty, I'm assuming your shoulder problem hasn't reoccurred? I'm still thinking about my Dr. advising would help for a little while but probably won't last long.

It did come back, around end of 2019. I didn't go to doc when it first started, then COVID came along. It then went away on its own after about 5-6 months. I have nothing now except for slight clicking sound.

Ooohhh, I may not be out of the woods yet. But that's OK, I never expected it to last this long, Anything after a year I just consider a bonus.
