That is a great video. I did not even know an engine could be run with the cams and springs exposed like that. Do we know what engine that is?
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Kick a$$ engine. They came out with that engine something like 10 years ago and still to this day none of the other manufacturers can beat it for horsepower.

They rigged up a viewing window

I ran my 550 with the cover off after a valve check
But that 60odd psi pump ended the fun quickly

That video is awesome. Min 1:25 it gets simply psychedelic for a few seconds.

After the '99 Hayabusa did 194 mph right out the box, there were many who feared government intervention to limit speeds. BMW instigated meetings among major motorcycle manufacturers which resulted in a 'gentlemen's agreement' to limit speeds to 300 kph (186 mph).

Somewhat ironic that BMW was the first (only?) one to break the agreement with it's 187 mph S1000RR.
